Searching and applying for grants, pitch competitions and accelerators can be overwhelming if you do not develop a funding strategy and remain organized. Here are some key steps to follow when you are researching funding opportunities:
- Identify grants within your geographic region. It is not uncommon for various funding opportunities to be available at the local or state levels.
- Identify grant-awarding organizations that share the same values as your business. More than anything, you need your funding source to be aligned with your business’s mission and core values. By matching values, you are ensuring that your brand is not being compromised.
- Does the organization have a track record of supporting similar projects? If so, it could help your business get the assistance necessary.
- Develop a calendar of due dates. With so many opportunities, you will need to create a schedule as applications can be lengthy.
In this week’s edition of Finurah Funding Friday, we are featuring several grants that rely on unconventional application processes yet come with hefty awards.
