Former Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom has made no secret about still carrying a torch for his former wife Khloé Kardashian. Earlier this week, Odom was seen house hunting not far from Khloé’s Hidden Hills, California, home. Odom, accompanied by an entourage, checked out a $7 million property in the gated community.
Odom was house hunting with his real estate agent, Tyson Flynn, along with his managers Gina Rodriguez and Anthony Kotzev, Harlem Globetrotters star Tavorris Bell and his trainer, Arden Banks, Page Six reported.
Expensive Neighborhood
If Odom, 42, who was married to Kardashian from 2009 to 2016, buys the home, he will not only be near Khloé but near to her mother, Kris Jenner, as well. Mother and daughter built mega mansions side by side in Hidden Hills. Khloé’s farmhouse-style mansion in the Ashley Ridge neighborhood of Hidden Hills is estimated to be worth $17 million. Jenner’s luxury home next door is estimated to be worth $20 million.
Odom’s Real Estate
Over the years, Odom has owned a number of properties, most of which he has sold off.
With a net worth believed to be about $30 million, Odom sold his Miami home in 2020 for $2.6 million after cutting the original asking price in half. He had purchased the home, with six bedrooms and seven and a half baths, in 2009 for $375,000.
Behind Odom’s Wealth
Odom, who won NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and 2010, his made millions while in the NBA. He joined the Lakers in 2004, a year after he inked a six-year deal worth nearly $72 million with Miami. In 2009, signed a four-year, $33 million deal with the Lakers. In the 2010-11 season, Odom made history as the first Laker ever to receive the Sixth Man of the Year Award. But the next year, he was traded to Dallas for the 2011-12 season.
It is estimated Odom earned more than $114 million in salary throughout his 14-season career. But alcohol and substance abuse derailed his career and marriage. He was first arrested in 2013 after he was stopped on suspicion of driving under the influence. Then in 2015 Odom was found unconscious at a legal brothel in Nevada after using cocaine. He suffered several heart attacks, strokes, and kidney failure. He was placed on life support at one point but recovered. His recovery was documented on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” He and his wife also had a reality show that ran from 2011 to 2012 called “Khloé & Lamar.”
Khloé, however, re-filed for divorce in May 2016, and it was finalized in December 2016.
