Singer and actor Tyrese seems really proud of the car he gifted to his oldest daughter, Shayla. He recently posted the gift exchange for the second time around.
In May, the “Fast & Furious” actor, who has a net worth of $6 million, posted an Instagram video showing him presenting Shayla, who he had with his ex-wife, Norma Gibson, a white Rolls-Royce. He congratulated her on graduating and apologized for missing the ceremony. He also gave her birthday wishes.
In the post, he wrote: “Shayla, my firstborn, just turned 15. She deserves the WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!!”
It also said, “I feel horrible as a father that I missed this one of a kind moment but it’s very very clear that my daughter felt all that love that I arranged from London……. Thank you Momma Norma for being there…. Funny that you’re in my country and I’m in yours lol congratulations to our angel SHAYLA [ Princess ] Gibson you did it baby you have made daddy sooooooo proud!!!!!12w”.
Now this month, he reposted the event, but this time he called the car not a birthday gift but rather a going-back-to-school gift.
On Aug. 19 he posted, using the same video from May, “My babies starts the 9th grade she will be pulling up in style.”
“Sweet Lady” singer also wrote, “Don’t tell me what you would and or wouldn’t do for your teen. When you really got it? Most 1% r’s will put 10 million in their child’s money market account at birth and let it grow interested by the time they turn 18; they will want for nothing…: Instantly become a monthly TRUST FUND BABY.”
Both the May and August Instagram posts show the car adorned with balloons on the hood that spell out “Shayla.” There is also a giant video screen playing images of Shayla. The only between difference between the two videos, is that the latest video has the song “Happy” from Pharrell Williams playing in the background. The May video has the song “Hello” by Adele is playing.
But his 15-year-old daughter is still not old enough to drive the six-figure luxury car.
Rolls-Royce Ghost sedan comes with a white exterior and a black and white interior. According to reports, it is a fast car with a 6.75-liter V12 engine, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It has 563 horsepower and a maximum torque of 627 pound-feet. According to Car and Driver, a 2022 Ghost starts at $343,000.
Luxury cars are only very rarely a good investment. While most cars do depreciate over time, luxury cars usually have a higher resale value — and high maintenance costs. In a very few instances some models appreciate in value.
