La La Anthony has a special birthday gift for her son, Kiyan, whom she shares with Lakers player Carmelo Anthony.
She is giving Kiyan an ultra-rare Marvel trading card that is valued at more than $100,000. It is a one-of-a-kind Miles Morales Spider-Man card.
Most people know Peter Parker as the kid who turned into Spider-Man, but Marvel created Miles Morales in 2011. He is the second Spider-Man in the Ultimate Universe, who was supposed to succeed Parker after his supposed death.
How La La Landed the Card
Appearing as a guest on Ken Goldin’s Goldin Auctions show, said to be the leading card and sports auction marketplace, Goldin and La La opened boxes from the 2021-22 Upper Deck Marvel Spider-Man set, TMZ reported.
During the unboxing, La La, whose full name is Alani Nicole Anthony, received the Purple Light FX Miles Morales card, a scarce, one-in-602,400 card.
Goldin and La Unboxed Spider-Man set that cost $600, but StockX has the hobby box for sale for under $800.
About the Card
Upper Deck Marvel Metal Universe Spider-Man was released on Aug. 24, and it features fan-favorite characters like Miles in “new thematic designs and technology to showcase … the Marvel Spider-Man Publishing Universe!,” according to the blog GoGTS.
Inside the Spider-Man boxes are the following: An autographed comic cuts from Amazing Fantasy #15, platinum portrait cards featuring character portraits formed by stippled designs, Copper, Platinum, and Gold cards with limited numbering, transparent thick acrylic cards with fan-favorite Spider-Man villains, and 1-of-1 original art sketch card.
A Great Birthday Gift for Kiyan
“Breaking boxes with my son Kiyan is the highlight of the hobby for me,” La La, who purportedly has net worth of around $30 million, said. “I love understanding a world he’s a part of and enjoys so much. I was so excited to bring home this incredibly rare card to him, it’s truly a gift of a lifetime.”
Kiyan, 15, is reported to be a Marvel and comic book fan, and he is being prepped to be an emerging NBA star.
Kiyan, being gifted a rare Mile card, has sentimental value. Miles Morale, an Afro-Latino teenager, was bitten by a genetically-modified spider, a parallel to the spider that bit Peter Parker, and became Spider-Man himself.
“The fact that La La pulled this one-of-a-kind card featuring Miles – an inspiration and hero that so many people look up to – is really marvelous,” Goldin told TMZ. “This was the first one-of-one card I’ve ever pulled in my more than 40 years of collecting, too which made it even more special!”
