Just months after NBA player Russell Westbrook purchased a new home across the street from his teammate LeBron James, he has sold his former home. Located on Los Angeles’ Westside, the Brentwood Park residence sold for $25 million. Westbrook and his wife paid $19.8 million for the home in 2018 when he was still playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Westbrook is a Los Angeles-area native who has been with the Los Angeles Lakers for two years. As a point guard, Westbrook is known for his speed and was selected to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team and voted an NBA All-Star nine times. He earned the NBA Most Valuable Player award for the 2016-2017 season and the NBA All-Star Game MVP Award for 2015 and 2016. Westbrook’s current net worth is $170 million.
Inside The Brentwood Mansion
When Westbrook purchased the residence in 2018, it was brand new. The three story home was designed by Los Angeles architect Ken Ungar. The 13,425-square-foot residence sits on a half-an-acre lot. Featuring an all-white stucco exterior, the home is accentuated with brick and wood.
The home includes six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Throughout the home are hardwood, tile, and stone flooring, high ceilings, large windows as well as custom moldings and trim.
Guests enter the home through a double-height entryway before entering formal living and dining room areas. The gourmet kitchen includes a central island, marble slab countertops, and stainless steel appliances. A breakfast nook flows to a family room which includes a fireplace and wet bar. Glass doors open to a covered patio with an additional fireplace.
The third floor of the home includes a master suite with a private balcony, showroom-style closets and a bathroom with an oversized glass shower.
On the subterranean level is a family room, an additional wet bar, movie theater, gym, temperature-controlled wine room and staff quarters.
Outside is a pool and spa centered between a sundeck and lawn. There is also an additional kitchen and barbecue area for entertainment.
Finally, the home boasts a three-car garage and motor court.
The New Digs
In late October, Westbrook purchased another home in Brentwood for $37 million. The 13,500-square-foot farmhouse style home was acquired as a closed purchase. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the home sits on half-acre of a hillside lot. The three-level home features eight bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, an elevator and two-car garage.
