Kimora Lee Simmons’ Beverly Hills residence is back on the market. The model and entrepreneur recently listed the home for $23 million. Simmons purchased the property in 2008, for $11 million. For several years, the home would be on and off the market; in December 2022, it was offered as a lease for $62,500 per month.
Simmons, the ex-wife of music industry mogul Russell Simmons, wears many hats. She is known for her work as a model, entrepreneur, fashion designer and television personality. Simmons began her career as a model at age 13 when she signed with Glamour, a prestigious modeling agency in Paris. Simmons was a featured runway model for designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel, Fendi, Valentino, and Yves Saint Laurent. In addition, she appeared in fashion magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.
Yet Simmons’ biggest personal business feat came with the launch of Baby Phat, an urban women’s lifestyle brand, which at its height of popularity was valued at close to $1 billion. In addition, Simmons has appeared in several reality shows, including “America’s Next Top Model” and “Kimora: Life In The Fab Lane.” According to Celebrity Net Worth, Simmons has a net worth of $200 million.
A Mediterranean Estate
Built in 1990, the compound is 13,000 square feet and is located in the Coldwater Canyon area. The five-bedroom, eight-bathroom beige stucco and terracotta-roof home is nestled behind gates and dense foliage.
A double-height foyer features a skylight and a wrought-iron staircase. There’s a fireside living room that includes a high ceiling and French doors that lead to the backyard, boasting a custom pool, spa area, open-air cabana, garden and sport court.
The gourmet kitchen’s eat-in island, stainless steel appliances, butler’s pantry and breakfast nook provide enough space for small and large gatherings. There’s also a dining room and a wood-paneled library.
The upstairs area includes five en-suite bedrooms. The master suite has a wood-burning fireplace, a private balcony, two bathrooms and walk-in closets. There is also a family room, gym and wine cellar. An attached four-car garage rounds out the lower level of the home.
Finally, a guesthouse with two bedrooms and one bathroom, complete with a kitchen and entertainment deck, round out the compound.
Other Properties
The sale of this property does not mean Simmons and her five children are leaving the Beverly Hills area. Simmons currently resides in her former home in Beverly Park as part of a lease-back arrangement. Simmons sold the property in 2021 — just four years after purchasing the estate for $15.7 million.
