Super fans continue to keep breaking into Drake’s L.A. mansion. The latest alleged suspect burglarized his home while the rapper was away, The Los Angeles Times reported. This follows a bizarre break-in July 2022 at the same location.
Los Angeles Police Department Officer Moore Warren confirmed that a burglary took place at around 9 p.m. on the 9900 block of Kip Drive on Jan. 20, saying there was “an unauthorized entry into the property.” That is the block Drake’s mansion is on.
A security guard called police and the footage from the surveillance camera was used to identify the alleged suspect, who was detained at a nearby property.
The name of the suspect was not released nor were the items he allegedly stole. He was booked for burglary, The L.A. Times reported.
Drake was not at home at the time of the incident because he was performing two shows in New York City at the Apollo Theater over the weekend.
This is not the first time Drake’s home has been invaded.
The Intruders
In July, a 23-year-old man claiming to be 36-year-old Drake’s son allegedly broke into the rap mogul’s Los Angeles mansion and carried out a single item, Rolling Stone reported.
Sources say the 23-year-old, spotted near the property’s pool was waiting for Drake to come home, but Drake was reportedly never on the premises.
The suspect, who was charged with misdemeanor trespassing, alleging that Drake fathered him at age 12, Radar reported.
In 2017, a woman got arrested and charged with breaking into a different home Drake had; this one was in Hidden Hills, California, a gated neighborhood next to Calabasas.
The incident was also bizarre: The female intruder later sued Drake for $4 billion, claiming that he defamed her and invaded her privacy by sharing private information on Instagram. Her defamation case was dismissed.
About the New Mansion
The mansion is a relatively new home for the rapper; Drake purchased it from British singer Robbie Williams for $75 million in March 2022.
As Finurah previously reported, Drake took a $52.5 million mortgage with Bank of America and pays a monthly mortgage is estimated to be $220,000, with a speculated interest rate of 3 percent.
The property, one of the most prominent estates in the Beverly Hills area, sits on 20-plus acres, holds 11 cars in its garage, and has an elevator, wine cellar, gym, and game room.
The main house boasts seven bedrooms and 13 baths, a gourmet kitchen, a family room and a movie theater, and a separate staff wing with three staff bedrooms and a staff kitchen, according to older listings for the property.
“I feel like I finally found this comfort point where I’m able to genuinely disconnect from all the noise of the world and be able to live my own life,” Drake said in an interview last month with the Stake online casino company. “I’m able to enjoy my life simultaneously while being at the forefront of pop culture.”
