Basketball god Michael Jordan traveled to the island of Sicily in Brand Jordan style, knocking out a little bit of business and pleasure as he landed in the Italian region.
The NBA All-Star-turned-businessman flew from the States in his $61 million private jet.
Originally the plane was wrapped in powder blue and white as a tribute to his college team at the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. However, in 2017 Jordan debuted a new look for the Gulfstream G-IV.
Now, the 88-foot-long jet, which can host 13 passengers and a two-person crew, is wrapped in the elephant print of his iconic Air Jordan sneaker with his signature Jumpman logo on the craft’s rudder, according to The U.S. Sun.
Flying High
Jordan, whose estimated net worth is $2.6 billion, touched down in the Mediterranean to attend an exclusive Google Retreat.
The retreat has been called by outlets like Forbes the “Billionaire’s Summer Camp” and has been going on since 2012.
Usually, “The Camp” is a three-day conference that exposes attendees to tech, fashion, philosophy, and music.
During the mornings, there are workshops that center on the importance of education, human rights, health and even exploring the use of technology to create different designs for cities and extend human life. In the afternoon, high-octane guests are encouraged to relax and enjoy the good food and beautiful scenery.
In the past VIPs like President Barack Obama, Diane Von Furstenberg, Kevin Durant, Jeff Katzenberg, Gayle King, Bradley Cooper, Tom Cruise, Mark Zuckerberg, Karlie Kloss, David Geffen, Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel, filmmaker George Lucas, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, singers Pharrell and Rihanna have been invited.
The list has been so über-secured that no one knows who actually attends.
While Jordan is likely to close several deals, similar to the upcoming sale of his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets NBA franchise that he has owned since 2010, he is also enjoying time with his loved ones. He is expected to sell his stake for a whopping $3 billion.
International Jetsetter
According to the Daily Mail, he, his wife Yvette Prieto, and their twin daughters, Ysabel and Victoria, are vacationing in Italy.
The famous quartet was spotted on a luxury yacht called the M’Brace Georgetown off the coast of Sicily.
The Larsa Pippen Issue
Recently, the usually low-key athlete has been tangentially in the news. His son, Marcus Jordan. is currently dating the ex-wife of his former teammate Scottie Pippen, Larsa.
When asked by paparazzi if he approves of his 32-year-old son dating the 48-year-old woman who used to be married to the teammate Jordan won six championships with, TMZ reports he gave one answer, “No!”
The GOAT has spoken and is now getting back to making money.
