Rick Ross is on his way to making it to the top of the real estate game. The entrepreneur and hip-hop artist who once rapped about making it to Star Island is about to become a property owner in one of the most exclusive areas of Miami Beach.
According to TMZ, Ross is under contract to purchase a mansion for $37 million. He will be neighbors with wealthy celebrities, including P. Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, and Shaquille O’Neal.
Ross, with a net worth of $45 million, is the founder of the Maybach Music Group, a record label featuring acts such as Wale and Meek Mill. His debut album, “Port of Miami,” hit No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200. Other albums such as “Trilla,” “Deeper Than Rap,” “Teflon Don,” and “God Forgives, I Don’t” all explore achieving wealth and his hometown, Miami.
In addition to his record label and recording career, Ross has pursued several business opportunities including owning Wingstop franchises.
An Oceanfront Property Fit for a Star
Ross’ most recent pending transaction is a 40,000-square-foot residence with six bedrooms and nine bathrooms. It also has a summer kitchen and a heated swimming pool, and an entertainment room. Located on the waterfront, the residence has access to the ocean from the backyard.
Ross’ Real Estate Portfolio
Ross may rap about living a lavish lifestyle, but in reality he invests in properties that will help him grow his wealth.
Ross purchased rapper Meek Mill’s Atlanta mansion in April for $4.2 million. This purchase came just two years after Ross purchased NBA player Amar’e Stoudemire’s Miami estate for $3.5 million.
And let’s not forget his sprawling estate in Fayetteville, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. In 2014 Ross purchased the estate for $6 million. Built by its original owner, former heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield, the 44,234 square-foot estate includes 12 bedrooms and 21 bathrooms. Known affectionately as “The Promise Land,” the estate was featured in “Coming to America 2.” And recently, Ross purchased 87 acres adjacent to the property for $1 million. The additional property already has two houses that Ross can use for guest accommodations or rental property.
