Rapper Soulja Boy has not fulfilled his half-million debt to his ex-girlfriend Kayla Myers, who won a lawsuit against him for assaulting her at a 2019 house party.
Santa Monica Superior Court Judge Mark Epstein has since sided with Myers after a jury found him liable for damages stemming from him pistol-whipping her at the party.
Myers is seeking court permission to send sheriff’s deputies to the “Crank That” recording artist’s home to seize items to cover the judgment. She requested the court provide a LAPD officer to accompany her, according to Radar Online.
Since Soulja lost the federal civil suit, Judge Epstein repeatedly his ruled the rapper must pay Myers the $472,000 the jury awarded her in July.
She believes that all Soulja Boy has to do is sell some of his assets, like some of his multiple cars, including a yellow Bentley, a red Lamborghini, a Dodge Charger Hellcat, and a yellow Mercedes-Benz.
Court documents reveal that the rapper known for “Kiss Me Thru the Phone” testified to owning a diamond-studded “Soulja Boy” chain and a black Cartier watch worth nearly $20,000.
Myers alleged that he did not disclose all his jewelry during his testimony. In a recent performance, the artist’s diamond necklaces broke and dropped from his neck. Soulja Boy attributed the mishap to the pendant piece being “too heavy” for the chain. It is not known if this chain was accounted for in his testimony or one of the items his ex was talking about.
According to Myers, the chart-topper might have money lying around his house. She pointed to his social media, stating that he “regularly posts photographs on Instagram” of bookbags filled with cash.
She argues that if deputies walk with her through the property she may be able to knock some of the debt down.
Soulja Boy, despite his performing and flossing on social media, told the courts that he had no money and that all was not what it seemed.
His lawyers asked the judge to dismiss the $236,000 judgment, which includes $236,000 in damages and punitive damages. They argued that despite the rapper’s success in music, tours, and business, he is facing financial difficulties.
Their request was denied and he is on the hook for the judgment. The judge is currently reviewing the Myers’ latest request.
