Billionaire singer, beauty mogul, and fashion trendsetter Rihanna made a bold statement at the star-studded Las Vegas Formula 1 Grand Prix over the weekend. While attending the event, she donned a custom Jacob & Co. watch worth a staggering $400,000 as an anklet. The 18-karat white gold masterpiece featured a strap adorned with three strands of dazzling diamonds, totaling 70 carats of round and emerald-cut stones. In all there are 155 separate stones on the timepiece, The Robb Report reported.
The outlet also noted that Rihanna has tapped Jacob & Co. in the past for jewelry. During Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton debut fashion show in Paris in June, she adorned one of Jacob & Co.’s famed timepieces: the Brilliant Flying Tourbillon. That piece was made from white gold and featured 368 dazzling diamonds. But the “Umbrella” singer didn’t wear the $700,000 timepiece around her wrist; she wore it as a necklace.
The Entire Outfit Slayed
Rihanna’s choice of accessory added a touch of glamour to her edgy black ensemble, which included Balenciaga pantaleggings priced at $4,550. The dark fabric served as the perfect backdrop to highlight the brilliance of her diamond “anklet.”
The Grammy-winning artist complemented her look with several pieces from Messika, including a three-strand choker, a statement ring and a sparkling ear clip. She wore a leather Balenciaga jacket and an unzipped hoodie from the same brand, giving a hint of her bra. She also sported dark shades from Ambush.
This isn’t the first time Rihanna has showcased extravagant jewelry in unconventional ways. In May, she wore a $600,000 pear-shaped diamond ring as a foot accessory.
Rihanna kept a low profile during the event, opting not to appear on the starting grid with other celebrities. She took in the race from the Ferrari garage with other VIPs.
Famous Faces
Rihanna was not the only famous face at the Las Vegas Grand Prix; the event attracted a star-studded crowd, including celebrities like Heidi Klum, Paris Hilton, Patrick Dempsey, John Legend, Rod Stewart, Kylie Minogue and Gordon Ramsay, Page Six reported. Rihanna’s partner, A$AP Rocky, also joined in on the festivities and launched his Puma x F1 collection the night before.
