The Miami mansion once owned by NBA player LeBron James recently sold for $18.5 million just one month after being listed, according to reports.
“It sold very quickly because, even though it’s hard to believe, for $20 million in Miami on the open bay, you don’t get much,” listing agent Jason Zarco of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices EWM Realty told Mansion Global. “And this house is in immaculate condition, has spectacular views and has great entertaining spaces. Such properties don’t exist at this price.”
James, who currently plays for the Los Angeles Lakers and is considered one of the greatest players in NBA history, is reportedly worth $1 billion, according to Forbes. He purchased the residence in 2010 for $9 million while he was playing for the Miami Heat. James listed the residence for sale in October 2014 for $18 million. It took over a year to sell the property, making James drop the price for the mansion by $2 million. He was able to sell the property in 2015 after rejoining the Cleveland Cavaliers for $13.4 million, according to Forbes. The property sold again in 2021 for $12.75 million. In 2022, James purchased a $9 million condominium at Estates at Acqualine at Sunny Isles Beach.
A Look Inside A Mansion on the Waterfront
Located in the Coconut Grove section of Miami, the home expands across 80 feet of the Biscayne Bay and includes a private dock that can park two 60-foot yachts.
The 13,930-square-foot home was built in 2010 and includes floor-to-ceiling windows. There are six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and one-half bathroom. On the main floor, there’s a living room featuring a bar. In addition, another room can be used as an office or library. On this first level, there’s also an entertainment area featuring billiards and poker tables.
On the lower level, there’s a wine cellar, gym and spa area, including a sauna and steam room.
There’s also a heated pool with a swim-up bar.
New owners can take the elevator to reach the bedrooms. The master suite includes a rooftop terrace, two bathrooms and several walk-in closets.
The guest house sits on top of a three-car garage. Inside the guest house, there’s wallpaper that James used to decorate the space bearing his initials, LJ.
