One might suspect that comedian Nick Cannon, father to 12, spends a lot of money to keep the kids happy and entertained. The businessman has revealed that on top of financing his 11 living children and their mothers’ everyday needs, he also spends six figures taking them all each year to Disneyland.
The “Wild ‘N Out” creator visited “The Breakfast Club” radio show last week and shared that he spends hundreds of thousands on the vacation destination.
Disneyland Dollars
“Do you know how much money I spend at Disneyland a year? It’s no longer free and I only had two kids then. I’m literally at Disneyland at least once a month and to move around Disney, like — I’m probably spending $200,000 a year at Disney,” he told the hosts.
Cannon added, “Disneyland is expensive already off top, like, if you trying to stay in the hotel. It’s not how it used to be … you gotta make reservations.”
The 43-year-old is not only accommodating the 11 children he has but also their six mothers, perhaps except for singer Mariah Carey, mom to his oldest two children, who has a very high net worth.
While that number might seem a lot to some, it is a mere fraction of the $100 million that he makes each year.
Cost of Fatherhood
In an interview, he said he spares no costs for his offspring, spending more than the reported $3 million in child support once rumored by gossip site The Neighborhood Talk.
According to him, he has to “generate at least $100 million” a year to maintain his lifestyle, which includes providing for his clan.
“Everybody thinks Ryan Seacrest has tons of money,” he explained in the 2023 interview, “I do everything that he does times 10. Well, not times 10 — times three. Because he does a lot.”
Booked and Busy with a Purpose
The Howard University graduate works hard to bring in the big dollars for the care of his extensive family through various ventures, TV hosting gigs, radio shows, investments, and other entertainment properties through his NCredible Productions company.
Some highlights of his busy professional life include being the host and producer of “The Masked Singer” on the Fox network. He is paid more than $20 million annually to participate in the creation of two seasons each year.
He is also the creator of history-making MTV’s “Wild ‘N Out” comedy sketch show. The show is the longest-running show on MTV and the longest-running hip-hop show in history, starting in 2005 and just recently airing its 19th season.
In addition to “The Masked Singer” and “Wild ‘N Out,” there are a slew of shows that he has been hired to host over the years.
Daddy Cannon has been tapped to host the E! network’s new show “Celebrity Prank Wars” with Kevin Hart. One of that show’s most popular first-season episodes features Tiffany Haddish and Killer Mike.
Another project that he undertook in 2023 was a live tour docu-reality series called the “Future Superstar Tour” on BET.
The celebrity also took over as the host for the Fox’s “Beat Shazam” game show for its sixth season. The host replaced the show’s original host Jamie Foxx, who fell ill during a movie shoot. There is no word on if Foxx will return to the show since his recovery from his mysterious illness.
Cannon’s hustle is to make sure that he never falls short with his children, telling the world, “I don’t plan to ever have to participate in the governmental system of child [support].”
With his hearty work ethic, it appears he never will.
