The Woodland Hills home that tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams purchased for their mother Oracene Price in 2005 is now up for sale. This will be the second time that the mansion has been sold since the mom/ tennis coach moved from the property in 2019.
The mother pocketed $2 million for the house, but now, according to a listing the 4915 Winnetka Ave. estate, located outside of Tarzana, California, is worth more than double. The asking price for the home is $4,649,000.
The 7-bedroom contemporary-style home sits on 1.4 acres and is 5,612 square feet, according to Figure8re.com.
Four bedrooms are located on the top floor, including a spacious primary suite wing. This wing boasts walk-in closets, a generous balcony, an elegant fireplace, and a skylight-enhanced luxury en-suite bath. The expansive windows, complemented by 18-foot vaulted ceilings, offer a stunning mountain view to the lucky homeowner.
The home features multiple fireplaces throughout. The kitchen showcases a minimalist design with top-of-the-line Miele and Viking appliances, porcelain stone waterfall counters, and stylish taupe cabinetry.
Beyond the house, amenities include a pool with a pool house and a tennis court, which is rumored to have been played on by a member of the Williams family.
Built in 1979 and recently renovated, the property offers a three-car garage with ample space for oversized vehicles, along with guest parking. A winding tree-lined driveway leads to the parking area, flanked by majestic palm trees, and meticulously maintained landscaping.
The daughters bought the home around the time that they were actively competing. Venus at just won Wimbledon and Serena had just won the Australia Open.
Since then, Serena, who has an estimated net worth of $300 million, has not only solidified her status as a sporting icon but has also made significant strides in the realms of business and real estate.
As a mother of two, Serena has etched her name in history as one of the most dominant athletes, boasting 23 Grand Slam singles titles and four Olympic gold medals.
In 2017, she bought a 14,500-square-foot Spanish Mediterranean-style home, marking her first time living far from her sister Venus.
In an interview with Architectural Digest, Serena expressed the significance of this move, saying, “Moving away from Venus for the first time in my life … I wanted it to be really meaningful,” she said in an interview with Architectural Digest.
Before this, the sisters jointly invested in properties and lived close to each other.
One of their joint investments was in a one-acre lot in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, bought for $525,000 in 1998, and was sold for $2.3 million in 2019.
After buying this property, it was clear that Serena had an affinity for buying and selling homes.
Serena made another profitable sale in 2019, flipping a property she bought in 2006 for just over $6.6 million for $8.1 million.
In 2007, Serena acquired a two-bedroom pied-à-terre in Paris’ 7th arrondissement. The athlete often shared glimpses of the property with her fans, but that was the most she made public about the space. The purchase price remains undisclosed to the media.
In May 2015, she added another Palm Beach Gardens property to her portfolio for $2.5 million, selling it for $2.775 million by the end of 2020.
The same year that she purchased the aforementioned Spanish-style home in 2017, Serena and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, purchased their first home together. This mansion was a 5-bedroom, 7-bathroom Spanish-style Beverly Hills home for $6.7 million.
In a subsequent move, in 2020, Serena reportedly purchased a waterfront estate in Jupiter (South Florida) previously owned by St. Louis Cardinals baseball player Yadier Molina for $8 million, further expanding her impressive real estate portfolio.
It is believed that this last home has been demolished.
