Hill Harper is so busy running his campaign to be a Michigan senator that he has no time to relax at his Malibu home. That’s apparently why he’s renting the oceanfront property for $18,000 per month, according to the Realtor.
Harper purchased the property in 2018 for $4.1 million, according to the Los Angeles Times. Harper recently placed his three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom home in Malibu up for rent.
Harper, who has a net worth of $12 million, is an actor who starred in television series such as “CSI: NY” for nine seasons and movies such as “Beloved.” Making Detroit his home base, Harper is a social entrepreneur operating Roasting Plant Coffee and is currently running as the Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Michigan.
The Oceanfront Listing
Built in 1956, the Spanish-style home is located at the end of an extensive driveway with a circular motor court with space for several cars. Featuring almost 3800 square feet of living space and more than one acre of land, the property overlooks exclusive Broad and Zuma Beaches.
Inside the home, walls of windows provide views of the Pacific Ocean in the living and dining rooms. The kitchen includes glass front cabinets and stainless steel appliances. The adjacent family features vaulted, beamed ceilings.
Outside, there is a large tiled patio area for relaxation and the dining area also overlooks the coastline. Completing the estate’s exterior are garden beds as well as manicured lawn and landscaping.
