College football star Travis Hunter isn’t just making moves on the field. He’s also sharing his wins with his family and earlier this year surprised his mother by purchasing a new home for her.
Hunter, who plays for the University of Colorado as a cornerback and wide receiver, purchased a five-bedroom home for his mother in Savannah, Georgia. Hunter shared the surprise purchase on his YouTube channel with his fiancée, Leanna Lenee. Hunter chose the property because it was close to Lenee’s family, providing the opportunity for the couple’s family to build a closer relationship. This was Hunter’s second property purchase. In 2023, he bought a home in Colorado where he lives with Lenee.
In the video, which recently resurfaced on social media, Hunter’s mother viewed the home, which included an expansive kitchen with high-end appliances and a master suite. It is not known how much Hunter paid for the property.
How Did Hunter Purchase His Mother’s Home?
Hunter has been able to make big purchases such as surprising his mother with a dream home as a result of the NCAA allowing athletes the opportunity to earn money as college athletes. According to On3 NIL Rankings, Hunter’s valuation is $2.7 million and has endorsements with Kentucky Fried Chicken with teammate Shedeur Sanders, Celsius Energy Drink, Actively Black, SoHoodie, FreeForm Sports, Squishmallows, and the Michael Strahan Brand. Hunter’s love of fishing has also led to partnerships with KastKing, WaterLand Co. and Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits. Finally, Hunter’s YouTube channel, which offers a glimpse into the athletes life off the football field, has more than 290,000 subscribers.
The Colorado Buffaloes player is considered one of the most versatile players in college football. Recruited to Jackson State University, Hunter transferred to Colorado State University in 2023 when head coach Deion Sanders was offered a position. Entering his third season as a college football player, Hunter was recently ranked by CBS Sports as the No. 1 college football player for the 2024 season. In 2023, Hunter won the Paul Hornung Award.
