Simone Biles Calls Out Paris Club’s ‘Insane’ $26,000 Price for Bottle of Champagne After Her Olympic Triumph

Simone Biles, the most decorated U.S. gymnast in history, was left outraged at what a Parisian nightclub was charging for a single bottle of Champagne. Following the 2024 Olympics, where Biles secured her place as a living legend with three gold medals and one bronze, she decided to celebrate. However, the celebration took a turn when she tried to order a bottle of bubbly.

That’s One Expensive Bottle of Bubbly

In a TikTok video posted on Aug. 19, Biles recounted her experience, saying, “We had closing ceremonies at the Olympics. I went, and after that, we went out. You guys, this club tried to charge me $26,000 for a bottle of Champagne.” The 27-year-old gymnast said that she “obviously” did not purchase the high-priced alcohol.

One fan speculated in the comments if the bar was L’Arc, an upscale nightlife venue known for its champagne menu. Biles didn’t confirm but she had posted photos of herself partying with her sister inside L’Arc, the New York Post reported. Curiously, the venue’s website does not include its drink menu.

Still, for that kind of money she could have driven off with an off-the-lot 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer for $23,100, though she did recently unveil her new white G-Wagon to replace her black Mercedes-Benz G-Class, People reported. Her new 2025 Mercedes-Benz G 550 SUV has a base price of $150,000 — or about six of those Paris champagne bottles.

Speaking of champagne, according to Vine & Bubble, one of the most expensive champagnes available in Paris bars is Krug’s Collection 1928 for about approximately $20,500 per bottle. So it seems the unknown establishment Biles was visiting might have been trying to rip her off — something she suggested on TikTok.

“Like are you insane?” the 11-time Olympic medalist continued in her video. “Why would you even try to play me like that? Like, that’s wild. … I don’t know … sometimes the attention, I’d rather not have it. I’d want to just be as normal as possible.”
