Beyoncé and Jay-Z, also known as The Carters, are the quintessential power couple. While Beyonce pushes boundaries in musical genres and various entrepreneurial endeavors, Jay-Z heads up Roc Nation. Together, the Carters have a reported net worth of $2.6 billion. Jay-Z is worth $2 billion from his extensive music catalog as well as his business dealings while Beyoncé is worth $600 million. But where does this power couple live? Where do their three children–Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir–play?
Let’s take a look at Beyonce and Jay-Z’s real estate investment portfolio.
A Home on Billionaire’s Row
In 2023, Beyoncé and Jay-Z made headlines when they purchased a Malibu residence for $200 million.
Interestingly, the home was designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, the same designer behind Kanye West’s minimalist Malibu mansion — the one he reportedly stripped down and abandoned.
The purchase set a real estate record in California as the most expensive in the state’s history. The 40,000 square-foot residence overlooks the Pacific Ocean and sits amongst a legion of homes known as Billionaire’s Row. Aerial images share that there is an infinity pool on the property, while the main residence is replete with floor-to-ceiling windows. And while not much is known about the home’s interior, it is reported that one wing is dedicated to the couple’s art collection.
From Bed-Stuy to Bel Air
About 21 miles away from their Malibu mansion, the Carters also have a home in Bel Air. The property was purchased in 2017 for a reported $88 million. Sources reveal that this residence is where the family spends most of its time — and why not? The 30,000-square-foot estate includes six buildings, more than enough space for a family of five. On the estate are amenities such as four outdoor swimming pools and several spa and wellness areas. Inside the main house are eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a roof terrace, and a 15-car garage.
Vacation In The Hamptons
Also in 2017, Beyoncé and Jay-Z decided to add a vacation home to their portfolio. Located in East Hampton, New York, the seven-bedroom and bathroom residence is affectionately called The Pond House because of its stunning views of a nearby pond. The couple purchased the waterfront property for a reported $26 million.
Down In The Big Easy
Beyoncé spearheaded the purchase of a home in the Garden District of New Orleans. The historic home was once a church and ballet school before being transformed into a stately mansion. Originally listed for $2.6 million, the 13,300-square-foot mansion is known as La Casa de Castille. The three-story building includes four apartments with seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Although the Carters listed the home twice — once for $3.5 million and later for $4.45 million — it was eventually taken off the market.
