Rumor has it that Jennifer Lopez is negotiating a deal to buy a mansion adjacent to her former boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs’ estate in the tony Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Lopez, who recently filed for divorce from her fourth husband, Ben Affleck, reportedly feels more confident moving forward with the $55 million Los Angeles mansion purchase, Page Six reported.
Moving Near Former Beau?
The mansion Lopez is eyeing, located in the exclusive Holmby Hills neighborhood, spans 30,000 square feet and once belonged to the late BCBG founder Max Azria.
The estate was auctioned in May, with billionaire Ron Burkle winning the bid for $30 million. However, despite Burkle’s winning bid, a legal dispute arose between him and Azria’s widow, Lubov Azria, over a contract provision that allowed her to continue leasing the property after the sale. Burkle sued Azria, claiming she breached the agreement, complicating the ownership transfer.
As a result, the property is still on the market while the two parties battle over the terms, which is why Lopez reportedly is negotiating with both Burkle and Lubov to potentially purchase the estate amid the ongoing legal issues.
Lopez has a personal connection to the estate, using it as a filming location for her movie “Atlas” on Netflix. Additionally, she and Affleck toured the property together in 2023 when they were house-hunting prior to their split, but now it is the symbol of her moving forward after her divorce.
Amid her divorce from Affleck, The New York Post reports Lopez is negotiating the mansion’s price to between $30 million and $39 million, possibly becoming neighbors with Diddy, even though the now-jailed Diddy recently put his estate on the market. It is the same L.A. home that the FBI raided in March in connection with the agency’s investigation into sex trafficking and other allegations against Diddy.
The estate Lopez seems to be interested in boasts 14 bedrooms, a guesthouse, an infinity pool, and sits on 3 acres of landscaped gardens.
Meanwhile, Affleck and Lopez have their Beverly Hills mansion listed for $68 million, as reported by Realtor.com.
The couple had purchased the 38,000-square-foot estate for $60.8 million in May 2023. By July 2024, their romance appeared to have faded with Affleck reportedly living in a rental in Brentwood and Lopez believed to be searching for a new home in Beverly Hills.
According to Realtor, Lopez has finalized the sale of her Manhattan penthouse in the NoMad neighborhood for $23 million on July 24, which coincidentally was also her 55th birthday.
The sale was for less than hoped for by Lopez, who originally listed the property at $27 million in 2017. Despite reducing the price to $24,990,000, the penthouse ultimately sold for less than anticipated. Lopez acquired the property in 2014 for slightly over $20 million.
