While many outlets are covering the alleged relationship drama between Remy Ma and Papoose, few are highlighting the individual net worths of the longtime couple.

For context, Remy Ma and Papoose have been together since 2004 and famously tied the knot over the phone in 2008 while Remy served a six-year prison sentence from 2008 to 2014.
Remy Ma was sentenced to prison in 2008 for assault, weapons possession, and attempted coercion. The charges stemmed from a 2007 incident in which Remy Ma shot a woman, Makeda Barnes-Joseph, outside a Manhattan nightclub during an argument over missing money. Barnes-Joseph claimed Remy accused her of stealing $3,000.
Remy Ma served six years of her eight-year sentence and was released in 2014.
Cheating Allegations
Recent headlines have focused on the couple’s reported relationship issues. Remy Ma has been accused of cheating with Philly rapper Eazy the Block Captain, while Papoose has faced allegations of infidelity as well, including rumors involving women’s boxing champion Claressa Shields, as reported by Billboard.
Last week, the two put each other on blast via social media back-and-forth posts, with Papoose revealing he has asked Remy Ma for a divorce more than once and with his estranged wife noting the two are still living under the same roof in their New Jersey home.
In 2017, they purchased a home in North Carolina, though it is unclear if they still own it.
There will probable be much at stake if they do divorce.
Remy Ma is estimated to be significantly wealthier than her husband. Although not confirmed, it’s reported she has a net worth of $4 million, compared to Papoose’s $500,000 net worth.
Remy Ma, who hails from the Brinx, seemingly earns money from past and more recent music via royalties. She is continuously performing, most often with Fat Joe and the Terror Squad crew. She also has an all-female battle rap league, Chrome 23, which she launched in 2022, according to Distractify.
Papoose cut his Hip-Hop teeth as a revered underground Brooklyn, New York, rapper. He’s celebrated for his sharp freestyles and extensive mixtape catalog. Papoose launched his music career in 1998 and has since released four studio albums and an 29 mixtapes. During the early 2000s, he built a reputation by independently producing and distributing his own mixtapes. This hustle earned him a $1.5 million deal with Jive Records, where he worked on his debut album, “The Nacirema Dream,” between 2005 and 2006. However, conflicts with the label delayed the release, and the album eventually dropped independently in 2013, landing a spot on the Billboard 200.
Papoose followed up with his second studio album, “You Can’t Stop Destiny,” in 2015, further cementing his place in the rap industry.
Together with Remy they appeared on VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop: New York” for its sixth season until season 10. Then they had a spin-off show, “Remy & Papoose: Meet the Mackies,” and in the specials “Remy & Papoose: A Merry Mackie Holiday,” “Dirty Little Secrets,” and “The Love Edition.” And, he dropped the “now-famous sound “relationship-goals” track, “Black Love.”
In 2019, Papoose released his third studio album, “Underrated.” In January 2023, he was hired by digital distributor TuneCore as head of Hip-Hop. the Brooklyn-based company that specializes in independent distribution, publishing, and licensing deals for emerging artists.

He and Remy share a daughter, Reminisce Mackenzie, born on Dec. 14, 2018, along with a son Remy Ma has from a previous relationship, Jayson Scott, and Papoose’s three other children — Dajanae, Shamele, and Destiny— from past relationships.
