Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler, currently the subject of swirling trade rumors, is renting a luxurious waterfront mansion on Miami Beach’s exclusive Hibiscus Island for an estimated staggering $70,000 a month.
According to Architectural Digest, the exact price of Butler’s new rental isn’t publicly known, but the owners were asking for $95,000 a month when it was last listed as a rental.
Inside the Expensive Rental
This move comes after the six-time NBA All-Star sold his South Miami home earlier this year for $8.3 million, sparking speculation about his future with the Heat. Instead of buying another property in South Florida, Butler chose to lease the 8,500-square-foot estate. The Mediterranean-style mansion, which is also on the market for $30 million, features breathtaking views of the Miami skyline and Biscayne Bay. It is located on Miami Beach’s Hibiscus Island, an elite, police-guarded island.
The property, built in 2001, has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and luxurious amenities, including a private dock with a boat lift and over 125 feet of water frontage.
This is not Butler’s first foray into South Florida real estate. Over the past few years, he has bought and sold multiple properties in the Miami area. His real estate portfolio also extends beyond Florida; he owns an offseason mansion in the San Diego area.
While Butler is probably enjoying the comforts of this rental, his future with the Miami Heat remains uncertain. The 35-year-old forward signed a four-year, $184 million contract extension in 2021, with $49 million still owed to him. Despite the trade rumors linking him to teams like the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers, Butler appears unfazed by the speculation.
According to Spotrac, Butler has career earnings of $312,047,868.
“I actually like it,” Butler told ESPN. “It’s good to be talked about. I don’t think there’s such a thing as bad publicity … to a point.”
