As Los Angeles County grapples with a wildfire crisis, native Kendrick Lamar owns several properties in the California.
Lamar’s Houses
According to Architectural Digest, the rapper has a discreet real estate portfolio primarily consisting of properties in the Golden State — and elsewhere.
Lamar owns a Brooklyn, New York, condominium at the Pierhouse, a four-bedroom, 3.5-bath penthouse valued at $8.6 million. Many A-list celebrities, including Ed Sheeran, Amy Schumer, and Matt Damon, also have units in this luxury building.
Lamar’s California properties, either currently owned or previously owned, are concentrated in or near the Los Angeles County area. There is no word if any of his homes have been damaged or destroyed by the wildfires.
In December 2013, he purchased his first publicly known property in Eastvale for $523,500. The home, boasting 7,800 square feet and featuring four bathrooms, was considered modest compared to the vast estates owned by other rappers, who often acquire properties around $9 million. BET reported at that time in his career, the 26-year-old Lamar was an opener for Kanye West’s Yeezus tour.
However, there is some confusion regarding the home’s size, as Architectural Digest reported it to be a 3,500-square-foot, four-bedroom, three-bathroom house.
The purpose of this purchase was reportedly to accommodate his relatives, marking a big upgrade from their previous apartment conditions. In 2021, the Eastvale property was sold for $825,000.
Following the success of his fourth studio album, “Damn,” in November 2017, Kendrick purchased a home in Calabasas for $2.65 million, TMZ reported.
The 5,400-square-foot home features six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a pool, a large backyard, double-sided fireplaces, and a home gym. This property was reportedly meant for his relatives, according to blogger Famous Ent.
In 2019, Lamar acquired another property in Manhattan Beach for $9.7 million. The three-story mansion spans 5,350 square feet and includes four bedrooms and seven bathrooms, as well as a three-car garage and a small patio.
Much about this new construction remains private due to the off-market nature of the deal. The property was intended to house his then-fiancée, Whitney Alford, and their first child, who was born that year.
The last publicly known property in Kendrick Lamar’s real estate portfolio is his Bel Air estate, which he purchased in December 2022 for $15.85 million.
The 8,000-square-foot home features five bedrooms, a den, an office, a gym, craft rooms, and a playroom, as noted by Weahomes’ Instagram account.
Details about the properties are generally scarce, but it is evident that Lamar maintains a presence in the real estate market, investing in homes not just for himself but also for his family.
