Former NBA center Hassan Whiteside has listed his waterfront Miami Beach estate for $19.5 million, showcasing a luxurious retreat designed for comfort and style.
Inside the Home
The 5,406-square-foot, five-bedroom, 6½-bathroom mansion at 528 Lakeview Court features 85 feet of water frontage. Whiteside purchased the property for $7.3 million in 2016, two years after it was built, the New York Post reported. The modern, gated estate boasts a koi pond at the entrance, a chef’s kitchen with an aquarium, an outdoor pool, and a private dock.
Whiteside, whose net worth is estimated at $60 million, earned more than $100 million over his NBA career. He played for the Miami Heat, Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers, and Utah Jazz. Known for his defensive prowess and rebounding ability, Whiteside signed a four-year, $98 million contract with the Heat in 2016, cementing his status as one of the league’s top-paid players at the time.
The Miami Beach home reflects Whiteside’s penchant for luxury and his lifestyle as an elite athlete. Designed with high ceilings and a floating staircase to accommodate his 7-foot frame, the mansion includes a primary suite with a spa-like bathroom, a dressing room, and a terrace with a hot tub and water views.
For outdoor living, the property is equipped with an outdoor kitchen, a covered dining area, a firepit, and a rooftop pergola with stunning views of the water. Indoors, a home theater and gym complete the amenity suite.
The listing agent, Dina Goldentayer of Douglas Elliman, highlighted the property’s seamless indoor-outdoor living spaces and prime location in Miami Beach.
Whiteside joins a growing list of athletes investing in high-end real estate as part of their post-career financial strategies. His decision to sell comes amid a hot luxury real estate market in South Florida, where waterfront properties continue to attract interest from high-net-worth buyers.
The mansion represents not only a piece of Whiteside’s legacy but also the evolving trend of athletes leveraging real estate as part of their investment portfolios.
