Culkin purchased the 8th-floor condo in 1999, at the age of 19, for $1.725 million, as reported by The New York Observer that same year. Located at 704 Broadway in Manhattan’s trendy NoHo neighborhood, the residence is part of The Dandy—a 19th century building formerly known as The Dandy Hat Factory converted into luxury lofts.

With the recent sale, Culkin walked away with a significant profit of approximately $6 million. The transaction reflects both the sharp rise in Manhattan real estate values and Culkin’s knack for a savvy investment.

Though best remembered as the mischievous Kevin McCallister, Culkin’s real estate move shows he’s grown far beyond his childhood stardom, making smart financial decisions off-screen.

In the 10-story building, Culkin used to reside on the eighth-floor unit which features a 4,800 square feet floor, according to The Corcoran Group.

His unit had three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and the actor reportedly used it as a creative space. Culkin transformed the unit into his canvas, alongside his longtime collaborators Adam Green and Toby Goodshank — members of the indie band The Moldy Peaches.

With Green and Goodshank, the three men formed an art collective called Three Men and a Baby (3MB) and hosted art shows in the apartment beginning in 2012, according to Huffington Post.

In an April 2016 New York Mag issue, it was revealed the entire 8th floor was painted as a “trippy” kindergarten, showcasing hand-drawn suns, doodles, and vibrant patterns adorning the walls.

The Dandy was built in 1894 and designed by De Lemos and Cordes, the same architects behind Macy’s famous Herald Square flagship store. And, Culkin’s former apartment was also the headquarters of the Socialist Workers’ Party and later housed David Bowie, The Observer reported.

Now, at 44, Culkin is engaged to another child star, Brenda Song. The couple share two children: Dakota (born in 2021) and Carson (born in 2022). The family currently resides in an $8 million estate in Toluca Lake, California.
