Is Rick Ross Facing an Alleged $65K Tax Debt While Criticism Mounts Over Trump Event Performance?

Rick Ross might face yet another debt issue — rumor has it that he owes the Georgia Department of Revenue for unpaid taxes in 2021.

In late 2024, a tax lien was allegedly filed against the Wing Stop businessman, or at least someone who bears the same name as Rick Ross, William Leonard Roberts.

Entertainment gossip magazine In Touch Weekly reported on Jan. 21 that the rapper is in small debt of $64,995.21. This has yet to be conformed by other sources.

It was reportedly initially $29,043 in 2021, his debt grew due to interest ($10,576), penalties ($19,516), and collection fee ($5,808), and as a result of other fees, the tabloid reported.

Rick Ross has yet to confirm or comment.

The timing of the report coincides with Rick Ross performing at the Trump pre-inauguration ceremony called the “Crypto Ball” on Jan. 17 in Washington D.C.

Users criticized the Black artists who performed — Rick Ross, Nelly, Snoop Dogg, and Soulja Boy — saying that their participation in President Donald Trump’s event was supporting the racially divisive leader.

Ross lives in a Georgia mansion once owned by boxing legend Evander Holyfield, an estate Ross calls The Promised Land.

The property, 44,234 square feet, and features 12 bedrooms and 21 bathrooms, was used as the mansion in “Coming to America 2.”

As the founder of Maybach Music Group, Rick Ross flaunts a private 18-passenger jet named Maybach Airlines.

He has also been an investor in Wingttop since 2011, owning 30 franchises with his sister and mother, under a family LLC, Boss Wings Enterprise LLC.

While the rapper has been fortunate, he has had issues in the past paying off his taxes.

In 2016, he owed the IRS $5.7 million in unpaid federal taxes that led to assets being seized, Billboard reported.
