The Philadelphia Eagles have clinched their second Super Bowl win, but the cost of each Super Bowl ring changes from year to year.
Each ring boasts a distinctive and significant design, with the final price influenced by the team’s choices.
Put A Ring On It
Though the NFL covers between $5,000 and $7,000 per ring, the overall cost typically falls between $30,000 and $50,000, according to The Sports Rush.
With the NFL covering just $7,000, the rest of the cost falls on individual teams, excluding any customization and personal requests from the recipients.
Following the usual timeline, the Eagles can expect to receive their rings about four to five months from now. For comparison, in 2023 the Kansas City Chiefs received their Super Bowl rings in June, while in 2021 the Tampa Bay Buccaneers received their rings in July.
Each team’s rings are custom-made for the players coaches and staff and the NFL covers up to 150 rings, as reported by The Chicago Tribune.
The 2024 rings are not immediately available after winning the Lombardi trophy as they must include the team’s name logo, the inscription “world champions,” and the corresponding Roman numeral, with each ring a personalized symbol of victory.
When the Eagles won in 2018, their first Super Bowl, they received emerald rings that had 10-carat white gold and more than 200 diamonds along with 17 genuine green sapphires, according to the Philly website.
The pattern of each team winning a ring suggests that the second Super Bowl ring will be better than the previous one. An example of this could be seen with the New England Patriots, whose rings have only gotten more expensive each time they won. The same could be said about the Chiefs.
In 2019, the Patriots won their sixth Super Bowl and acquired a ring with more than 400 diamonds and 20 sapphires it was also the largest and most expensive ring at the time.
The 2023 Chiefs ring is more intricate. It’s one of the first ones to have a component where a replica of their stadium is concealed underneath a lid on the ring, The Tribune reported. This ring has 16 carats of diamonds and 35 custom-cut rubies.
