Travis Hunter may be a rookie on the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he is not living like one in Florida.
Is Travis Hunter A New Homeowner?
The Heisman winner and his new wife, Leanna De La Fuente, are reported to have used an limited liability corporation to secure a gated residency at the Deerwood Country Club.
Hunter has told reporters he has not bought a home, but nonetheless buzz has built around a report from a Florida outlet that he bought the home through the LLC. He and his new wife, Leanna De La Fuente, registered the limited liability company on May 9 and serve as managers and owners of the LLC, the Jacksonville Daily Record claims.
The property, supposedly purchased on May 30, just days after he married De La Fuente on May 24 — for $3.275 million, was built in 1995 and spans 7.5 acres. It features a two-story mansion that encompasses 8,125 square feet, including five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Additional amenities include a four-car garage, a pool, tennis and pickleball courts, a gym, a home theater, a billiards room, and a wine cellar.
The week’s actual news is Hunter has signed a four-year, $46.65 million fully guaranteed contract with a $30.57 million signing bonus. The team announced the deal on June 22.
Daily Record reports the supposed LLC was registered in Florida state with Gregory Blair Stringfellow and Angela Evangelista Stringfellow, who originally bought the home in 2010 from former Green Bay Packers player LeRoy Butler. Keller Williams Realty Atlantic Partners is the listing agent.
The Deerwood Country Club is also about between 10 and 11 miles from EverBank Stadium and the Jaguars’ practice facility, making the purchase a convenience for the star player.
As Sports Illustrated reported, on May 24, De La Fuente and Hunter got married in Tennessee at a private venue. Their young relationship, highly publicized, started when the couple met in 2022, with an engagement soon following in February 2024 while he was playing for the Colorado Buffaloes. Hunter graduated from Colorado in May, and De La Fuente, being slightly older, completed her undergraduate degree at Kennesaw State University in 2022.
