Why Hulk Hogan’s Estranged Daughter Brooke Was Left Out of His Will, and Why She’s Fine with This

Despite being the daughter of one of wrestling’s most high-profile figures, Brooke Hogan will not be receiving anything from Hulk Hogan’s will. But it’s by choice.

According to a report from TMZ, Brooke apparently asked to be removed from her father’s will in 2023, citing distrust in the people surrounding him and a desire to avoid what she viewed as inevitable financial chaos. The decision came during a strained period in their relationship, with the father and daughter largely estranged in the last years of Hulk Hogan’s life.

The wrestling star, whose real name was Terry Gene Bollea, died at age 71 on July 24 from cardiac arrest. While the fate of his estimated $25 million estate remains unclear, one thing is certain: Brooke didn’t want to be part of it.

Still, she hasn’t been cut out entirely. Brooke is listed as a beneficiary in a life insurance trust that her father established, from which she expects to receive a modest sum, the Daily Mail reported. It is rumored she plans to use the money to fund her children’s college education. Brooke welcomed twins with husband and former NHL player Steven Oleksy in January.

The last phone call Brooke had with her father reportedly happened in September 2023, just around the time of his third marriage to Sky Daily. During that conversation, Brooke told her father she loved him and urged him to slow down and take better care of his health. This reportedly went unheeded, and the pair did not speak again.

There have been reports that Hogan’s strained relationship with Brooke Hogan was possibly linked to her dating a Black boyfriend. Reports indicate that Hulk made racially charged comments about his daughter’s dating life in a leaked recording, which included using racial slurs when referring to her dating a Black man. Other reports say the break was due to his then wife, Daily. But Brooke has also stated that she needed to distance herself from her parents due to a history of verbal and mental abuse. 

Brooke publicly acknowledged their emotional distance, saying she “had to step away to protect [her] heart” in the last two years of Hogan’s life. Yet, she maintains that their bond remained intact, calling it “quiet” and “sacred.” In a heartfelt statement, she emphasized that despite their disagreements, she never stopped loving him — and is at peace with her decision.

Brooke’s estimated net worth is $4 million. Her career has included reality television appearances in “Hogan Knows Best” and “Brooke Knows Best. She also launched a music career with albums and EPs in various genres. Her song “About Us” reached number 33 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2006.
