Jim Carrey has finally parted ways with his longtime Brentwood estate, selling the 2-acre property for $17 million after more than two years on the market.

Carrey purchased the 11,000-square-foot mansion in 1994 for $3.8 million — the same year he skyrocketed to fame with back-to-back hits “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” “The Mask,” and “Dumb and Dumber.” In the years that followed, he cemented his box-office status with films like “Liar Liar” and “The Truman Show.”

The sprawling residence boasts five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and six fireplaces. Now, nearly three decades after he first moved in, the home has officially changed hands, according to The New York Post.
The buying agents, Sam Collins, David Parnes, and James Harris of Carolwood, have not commented on who purchased the actor’s mansion.

Carrey’s own agent, Graham Larson of Sotheby’s International Realty, has also not disclosed any information about the buyer.
“The gorgeous custom art deco theater evokes the iconic movie cinemas of Hollywood with a popcorn concession room, mohair fabric walls, and burl wood columns,” the listing read. “A meandering trail leads to the treetop yoga and meditation platform. This tranquil oasis is unlike any other in Los Angeles and must be experienced in person to be fully appreciated.”

The mansion is fronted by 300 feet of hedges, and its 2-acre lot includes a tennis court, gardens, a waterfall pool, a pool house, a sauna, and a steam room, The Real Deal reported.
Despite the mansion’s appeal and its connection to Carrey, the home sat on the market for about 30 months, with its asking price steadily dropping over time.

Built in 1951 and located at 615 North Tigertail Road, the property was first listed in 2023 for $28.9 million, according to Realtor.
Multiple price cuts followed, and it went under contract at $19.8 million in December 2024, but the deal fell through.
The home was relisted in February 2025 at $19.8 million, then reduced to $18.8 million before finally selling for $17 million.
From its initial $28.9 million ask to its final sale price, that’s a 41 percent decrease — a drop possibly influenced by California’s most recent wildfire season, even though the mansion itself was largely unaffected.
Just last year, Carrey returned to acting after a brief retirement, reprising his role as Dr. Robotnik in “Sonic the Hedgehog 3.” At the London premiere, the 62-year-old admitted, “I bought a lot of stuff and I need the money, frankly,” though it’s unsure if he was joking, being the comic actor he is.
Once commanding $20 million per movie he boasted an estimated $300 million fortune.
