Rick Ross Built One of the Biggest Pools In America, and It’s Not Just for Swimming

Rick Ross owns one of the nation’s largest residential pools, and it’s also a money-maker.

On his private estate, The Promise Land, just outside Atlanta, Ross has a pool that holds 350,000 gallons of water and requires a four-person crew from Georgia Plaster and Tile to maintain, according to CNN.

The outlet reports that the pool is among the largest in the country, with Ross profiting by renting it out for film productions.

It has served as the backdrop for 2018’s Superfly and the 2021 sequel to Coming to America.

But for Ross, the pool is more than just a flashy piece of real estate or a side hustle.

He considers it part of his lifestyle and his daily inspiration.

“There’s no way you gonna come out here and not be inspired,” Ross told CNN, adding that he jokingly nicknamed the pool “Wet Wet” and even called it his “ghost writer.”

Ross, who splits his time between Atlanta and Miami, admitted he prefers the water at home to the ocean. “When I’m in Miami, I’m not in the ocean. I’m in the swimming pools in Atlanta,” he said.

The rapper, who was born in Mississippi as William Leonard Roberts II and raised in Florida, explained that the sheer size and atmosphere of his pool gives him a different kind of peace of mind.

He also ties his mornings to the pool as part of his meditation ritual.

“I swim every summer. I meditate every morning by the pool,” Ross said, noting that it fits perfectly with his astrological sign: “I’m an Aquarius.”

Beyond personal use, the former prison guard sees the pool and the larger Promise Land estate as a symbol of resilience.

He told CNN that hosting car shows and pool parties each year gives him a chance to not just celebrate success, but to show young people what’s possible.

The third annual event was held on June 7 with general admission tickets going for priced at $325. VIP parking were available for $500, and VIP mixer tickets, which include a mixer with Rick Ross, a general admission ticket, and a VIP gift bag, were priced at $2,500, 11Alive reported.

“Growing up, teachers and counselors used to tell me I’d either be dead or in jail. But now I got the biggest pool in the country. I want them to see that,” Ross said.

The big boss rapper also hosts pool parties even when it is a stormy weekend like on Aug. 2 in metro Atlanta, when CNN witnessed Ross keeping the energy upbeat, popping bottles of Belaire, greeting guests warmly, and insisting the pool radiates positivity.

“This pool, it’s bigger than me. It’s about the energy. Everybody who come here leave inspired,” he said.

The official website said the general admission for the pool party was at $200 per person with the most expensive tickets available being the VIP BOOTH
$3,500, which included six tickets and three bottles.
