Did Tom Brady Bag $75M for Saudi Flag Football? The Questions Continue

The rumor mill had been spinning since September and still whirling on social media, but Tom Brady doesn’t seem to be about to let a massive dollar figure hang over him without a response. After Dave Portnoy claimed on FS1’s “Wake Up Barstool” that Brady pocketed a whopping $75 million to participate in a one-day flag football tournament in Saudi Arabia planned for March 2026, the seven-time Super Bowl champion went online and clapped back.

Just How Much Is the Payday?

The initial report suggested that Brady, who retired for good on Feb. 1, 2023, would return to the field, though not for the NFL, came with an unbelievable payday. Rather than allow the speculation go uncontested, Brady took to X and posted a sarcastic rebuttal, pushing back on the idea that he was receiving anything close to that number. His post dismissed the claim as fantasy, joking that if made-up figures were now fair game, fans should also expect Elvis at halftime and Babe Ruth signing autographs.

Although Brady’s tone was mocking, his message seemed clear that the $75 million figure wasn’t accurate.

But he did not reveal an alternative number. That silence fueled further debate. If the figure wasn’t $75 million, how far off was it? Many believe the real amount is still extraordinarily high. The Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority has a history of paying enormous sums to lure global names.

According to Spotrac.com, Tom Brady’s career earnings from playing in the NFL total approximately $332,962,392. Brady, who reportedly lost heavily in the FTX meltdown, has over the years entered into a number of business ventures and partnerships. His net worth is estimated to be between $300 million and $350 million.
