Facing an ongoing sexual harassment case that has cost him millions of dollars, Jason Derulo says he will “never work with women,” or at least clarifies that he will never again be alone in a room with a woman he works with.

Workplace Nightmare
Derulo maintains that he did not harass singer Emaza Dilan.
The scandal led to a lawsuit that was filed in California in October 2023 and dismissed on April 16, 2024, before being refiled in New York in September 2025, as reported by Rolling Stone, causing personal and professional damage to him that may be irreparable. The case is currently ongoing.
During an interview on “In Depth with Graham Bensinger,” the R&B pop star responded to Dilan’s claims by immediately saying, “Never work with women.”
“There’s truth in every joke. But it’s a sad truth,” he said. “I will never be alone in a room with a woman that I work with… ever, ever again.”
Derulo explained to Bensinger that he feels burdened by what he describes as Dilan’s lies, designed to humiliate him unfairly and cause financial losses in brand deals.
As a man in this situation, he believes his attempts to clear his name often backfire within broader gender discourse, according to Complex.
He mentioned that Dilan’s suit claimed he “sacrificed a goat in a sexual ritual,” a statement he dismissed as “not even slightly believable.”
“That case was dismissed twice… and I lost so many brand deals, relationships off of a story that was not even slightly believable,” Derulo said.
Despite the financial hit, Derulo said his pride has also been injured. He believes his image is under attack by blogs that publish the initial lawsuit, which paints him as an alleged harasser, but rarely follow up when the cases are dismissed, according to Blast.
“F-ck the money,” he said. “I have one name that I work so hard to stay clean… somebody can just say anything? That’s the world we live in.”
“Why didn’t they post the dismissal at least? Wouldn’t that be fair?” he said. “God d-mn. None of that? It’s crazy.”
The Dilan v. Derulo case was indeed dismissed twice, but on technicality, because the allegations needed to be filed in New York City.
Atlantic Records, the Warner Music Group-owned label that both singers are contracted under, is at the center of the controversy and is headquartered in Manhattan.
Dilan alleges Derulo recruited her in 2021 for his joint venture with Atlantic Records, promising mentorship and career support, but allegedly used it as a ploy to pressure her into sexual activities, her suit states, according to Rolling Stone.
When she declined his sexual advances, Dilan’s lawsuit states Derulo tried to sabotage her career by withdrawing support, stalling her releases, and eventually ending her contract.
The complaint also alleges “physical intimidation,” stating that Derulo lunged at her and screamed in her face in a 49-page filing.
As Finurah previously reported, Derulo has been hard at work growing his empire, with a net worth of $16 million.
He has invested in the membership-based car wash service Rocket CarWash, the fitness studio Rumble Boxing, co-owns the restaurant Catch LA, and is the co-creator of the BBC TV show Project Icon.
