Alec and Hilaria Baldwin have once again cut the price on their long-listed Hamptons retreat.

No Takers
The couple’s modern farmhouse in Amagansett, which dates back to 1740, received a $1 million price reduction this week, Realtor.com reported. The discount brings the asking price closer to $20 million following several earlier attempts to secure a buyer.
The property returned to the market in December, marking its fourth appearance in nearly as many years. Despite repeated listings, the Baldwins have publicly acknowledged how difficult it has been to part with the home, which has served as a family refuge for decades.
The 10,000-square-foot residence sits on eight secluded acres north of Montauk Highway and includes seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. Amenities include a wood-paneled library, a movie theater, a wine room, a swimming pool and a spa. The grounds also include a 3.2-acre agricultural reserve, a feature that offers privacy but limits development potential.
Alec Baldwin, 67, purchased the Amagansett property in 1995 for $1.75 million, years before he met his wife. The house has since undergone multiple renovations and has remained a constant through major chapters of the actor’s life, including his divorce from Kim Basinger and his later marriage to Hilaria Baldwin.
Baldwin is best known for his work on “Saturday Night Live,” his role as Jack Donaghy on NBC’s “30 Rock” and a decades-long film career. In recent years, his personal life has drawn intense scrutiny following the fatal 2021 shooting on the set of the film “Rust.” An involuntary manslaughter charge against Baldwin was dismissed in July 2024 during a widely watched trial in New Mexico.
Despite the legal turmoil and the repeated listings, Baldwin has said the Amagansett home remains deeply meaningful to him and his family. In an interview with The New York Times in August, he said his seven children are “very happy” at the property, citing its wide-open fields and distance from Manhattan.
“When I go up to the kids and go, ‘Want to sell the house?,’ they go crazy,” Baldwin told the outlet.
The farmhouse was first listed for $29 million in November 2022, nearly a year after the “Rust” shooting. Since then, the price has been adjusted multiple times as luxury buyers in the Hamptons market have gravitated toward newer or recently renovated homes.
Local real estate agents previously told Realtor.com that the home’s age and location have posed challenges. While the circa-1740 structure adds historic charm, some buyers spending eight figures prefer more modern construction. Others have noted that the property’s location north of the highway places it farther from the most coveted stretches of East Hampton and Southampton.
“The house is quite dated for the current market,” Jenny Lenz, managing director of Dolly Lenz Real Estate, told Realtor.com in 2024. “Buyers in this area are looking for more modern styles and either new construction or recently renovated homes.”
The couple returned to the spotlight earlier this year with the premiere of their reality show, “The Baldwins,” which offered a glimpse into life with seven children under age 12. Much of the series was filmed at the Amagansett home, underscoring its role as the family’s escape from New York City.
Hilaria Baldwin, 42, has described the property as “Alec’s safe place for a long time before he met me.” Baldwin echoed that sentiment in a personal video created for a previous listing, saying, “I’m always happiest when I come here.”
A sale of the home would mark the end of an era for the Baldwins, a financial success but an emotional loss for a family that has struggled to let go of the historic home.
