Mark Zuckerberg and wife, Priscilla Chan, have dropped $170 million on a luxury mansion under construction on Indian Creek Island.
Designed by Ferris Rafauli Design, the Miami-Dade property ranks as the second-priciest residential sale in Florida history, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Inside and Outside the ‘Bunker’
Set on nearly two acres, the 30,000-square-foot estate will feature nine bedrooms and is part of the ultra-exclusive gated enclave nicknamed the “Billionaire Bunker,” People reports, joining the ranks of some of the world’s wealthiest residents.
The couple purchased the mansion for slightly less than the $200 million asking price after the property was listed in November 2025.
Originally, the land was purchased in 2020 for just over $30 million by cosmetic surgeon Aaron Rollins and real-estate agent Marine Rollins, who began developing the mansion.
The value of the property skyrocketed from about $30 million to $170 million over a six-year period as Miami’s luxury housing market surged following the COVID-19 pandemic. In recent years, the South Florida market has increasingly been compared with high-end markets such as New York City and Los Angeles.
At the same time, some wealthy buyers have grown wary of policy proposals in states like California that could implement a billionaire wealth tax, pushing some ultra-rich residents to relocate to lower-tax states that still offer major metropolitan centers.
The proposed California billionaire tax would impose a 5 percent tax on residents with a net worth above $1 billion, according to Miami New Times.
Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook who later rebranded the umbrella company as Meta, has a reported net worth of about $224 billion.
The planned mansion will feature luxury amenities including a gym, hair salon, massage room, entertainment and party spaces, a 1,500-gallon aquarium, and a library with hidden passageways, along with waterfront features such as a private dock and swimming pool.
As the second-most expensive mansion sale in Florida and among the priciest residential deals in the United States — behind a $238 million penthouse purchase in New York and a $225 million estate in Naples — Zuckerberg and Chan will soon be neighbors with other ultra-wealthy residents of Indian Creek Island, including Jeff Bezos, Carl Icahn, and Tom Brady.
As Finurah previously reported, Zuckerberg and Chan have also built an extensive real estate portfolio across the United States. Since 2014, the couple has accumulated large tracts of land on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.
Zuckerberg initially purchased about 750 acres on the island for roughly $100 million and later acquired another 600 acres in 2021 for about $53 million, giving the couple control of more than 1,200 acres on Kauai.
The Silicon Valley founder also maintains significant holdings in California. Zuckerberg owns a five-home residential compound in Palo Alto, located near Meta’s headquarters in Menlo Park, Business Insider reported.
He bought the first property in 2011 for $7 million and later spent more than $43 million purchasing four neighboring homes to expand the compound. The combined assessed value of the properties exceeds $36 million.
Zuckerberg previously owned a townhouse near Dolores Park in San Francisco, which he purchased in 2010 for $10 million. He sold the property in 2022 for about $31 million, making it one of the largest residential deals in the city that year.
The Meta CEO also owns two adjacent lakefront estates near Lake Tahoe. Around 2019, Zuckerberg purchased the properties — known as Carousel Estate and Brushwood Estate — for about $59 million. The estates feature multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, a private dock, a guesthouse, and expansive lakefront views.
More recently, in March 2025, Zuckerberg reportedly purchased a 15,000-square-foot mansion for $23 million in Washington, D.C., The home sits on about one acre in the Massachusetts Avenue Heights neighborhood near landmarks such as the Washington National Cathedral and was designed by Robert Gurney Architect.
