Heartbreak Who? Megan Thee Stallion Bounces Back from Klay Split By Rebuilding Homes for Seniors In Texas

Houston’s own Megan Thee Stallion may be so heartbroken from her breakup with basketball star Klay Thompson that she cut short her Broadway run in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical,” but she’s still seem to be making time to give back to her community.

Doing Good Works

The Grammy-winning rapper’s Pete & Thomas Foundation recently teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to repair more than 30 homes for older residents across Houston and Dallas, launching a large-scale initiative aimed at helping seniors stay safe in the homes they love.

The effort began May 2 in Houston’s South Park neighborhood on the same day the city celebrates “Megan Thee Stallion Day.”

The project focuses on major upgrades such as roofing, weatherproofing, structural repairs, and accessibility improvements including ramp installations.

Also, volunteers from Megan’s “Hotties Helping” initiative are working side-by-side with Habitat crews.

“Caring for our older adults has always been a priority for me and making sure their homes are safe and well-maintained is a critical part of that commitment,” Megan, whose estimated net worth is around $40 million, said in a Habitat for Humanity press statement. “I’m proud that the Pete & Thomas Foundation teamed up with Habitat for Humanity on this initiative because it goes beyond just fixing homes. It’s about showing love and providing peace of mind to the generations that came before us.”

The collaboration falls under Habitat’s “Aging in Place” program, which focuses on helping seniors remain independent in their homes.

“There is a strong connection between living in a safe and decent home and positive health outcomes, especially for older adults,” said Adrienne Goolsby, senior vice president of U.S. and Canada at Habitat for Humanity International. “Working together with Megan Thee Stallion and the Pete & Thomas Foundation, we are opening the door to both housing and health equity for older adults and ensuring they can age in place.”

Nearly 77% of older adults say they want to remain in their homes long term, but many are living in spaces that are outdated, unsafe, or not built for aging.

Megan launched the Pete & Thomas Foundation in 2022 to honor her late parents (Holly Thomas and Joseph Pete III), with a mission centered on education, housing, health, and community support.
