The chair, which Swift used while attending the May 23 matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks at Rocket Arena, became the top-selling item in a celebrity memorabilia auction organized by the Cavaliers and The Realest.

Swift’s seat far outperformed the other celebrity chairs offered in the sale. Seats used by Kelce, Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet, Ben Stiller, and Machine Gun Kelly all sold for significantly less, highlighting the unmatched drawing power of the global music icon.

According to The Athletic, a chair used by Kylie Jenner sold for $1,505, while one used by Kelce fetched $1,405. Chairs used by Timothée Chalamet, Ben Stiller, and Machine Gun Kelly sold for $1,202, $732 and $635, respectively.

People Magazine reported that Swift’s chair was the top-selling item among the celebrity seats.

Interestingly, the auction listing did not identify Swift by name.

Instead, it described the seat’s occupant as “one of the biggest music artists in the world and a 14-time Grammy Award winner,” a description that left little doubt about who had occupied the chair.

The chair next by hers was described as a “Kansas City Super Bowl champion and Cleveland Heights native,” describing Kelce’s which also confirms Switft’s seat.

The Realest uses a memorabilia verification system called TRuEST. According to the TRuEST’s website, it is a “witness-based authentication process is led by veteran MLB Team Authentication executives. Physical certificates of authenticity have been replaced with digital ones, eliminating vulnerabilities. State-of-the-art covert marking and holographic technologies enable every item we source to be uniquely identified with a first-of-its-kind tamper-resistant Gold or Silver label and serial number. These holograms are non-transferable and the serial number’s history can be verified online by anyone.”

Swift, whose net worth has been estimated at roughly $2 billion, is the first artist to win the Grammy Award for Album of the Year four times, earning the honor for “Fearless,” “1989,” “Folklore” and “Midnights.”

Her appearance courtside during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals generated discussion among fans, particularly because she was supporting the Cavaliers alongside Kelce, a Cleveland Heights native and longtime Cavaliers fan.

Some Knicks supporters criticized Swift on social media, noting that she has frequently attended New York sporting events.

Less than three weeks later, she was back courtside at Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden on June 10, sitting courtside with friends Alana and Este Haim, Mariska Hargitay, and Ben Stiller, cheering on the Knicks during the NBA Finals, People Magazine.

The Knicks ultimately swept the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals before advancing to the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. New York defeated San Antonio in five games to capture the 2026 NBA championship, securing the franchise’s third NBA title and its first since 1973.
