Jay-Z’s three-night Reasonable Doubt anniversary celebration at Yankee Stadium wasn’t just one of the biggest concert events of the summer, it also served as the backdrop for one of the rarest Rolex watches ever made.
During the performances, held July 10-12 at the Bronx stadium, the billionaire rapper wore the ultra-rare Rolex Daytona Ref. 6270 “Sultan of Oman,” a timepiece considered one of the most exclusive Rolex models in existence.
As Finurah previously reported, Jay-Z has an estimated net worth of approximately $3 billion, making the extraordinary watch a fitting addition to his milestone performance.
The luxury timepiece is a status symbol for the rapper, having debut from his 1996 debut album to becoming one of hip-hop’s most successful artists and businessmen, according to GQ.
This is not the first time he was spotted with the watch, as Jay-Z was also spotted wearing the same watch at billionaire Michael Rubin’s annual White Party in the Hamptons in 2024, where it stood out among a guest list that included Beyoncé, Drake, Tom Brady, Kim Kardashian, and Emily Ratajkowski, according to Maxim.
The Daytona Ref. 6270 was produced between 1984 and 1986 and was commissioned by Rolex for Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman, one of the brand’s most influential historical clients, according to GQ and Esquire.
Considered to be one of Rolex’s most valuable gem-set Daytonas, there has been only eight known examples created for the Sultan and members of his inner circle.
The watch is built with a 37mm 18k yellow gold case and is based on the iconic Rolex Daytona Ref. 6263, according to Maxim.
It is powered by the manual-wind Rolex Caliber 727 chronograph movement and features 28 baguette-cut diamonds around the bezel, a pavé diamond dial, sapphire-set hour markers, and gold baton hands.
The Daytona Ref. 6270’s rarity has made it one of the most valuable Rolex watches ever produced.
It is even rarer for the watch to be sold to anyone.
One example sold for approximately $1 million at Christie’s in 2014, according to Maxim.
Another reached about $4 million at Phillips in 2023, making it one of the most expensive factory Rolex Daytonas ever sold.
A separate example later fetched $5.2 million at auction in October 2025, according to GQ, showing as the years goes by, the watches value shoots up.
Esquire estimates Jay-Z’s personal Daytona Ref. 6270 is worth around $4 million and values his entire Rolex collection at nearly $6.5 million.
“I wear my watches. They’re to be enjoyed, not to be looked at,” Jay-Z told GQ.
Beyond the Daytona Ref. 6270, Jay-Z’s Rolex collection includes the Daytona Ref. 6263, “Tiffany,” according to Esquire.
The watch features a Paul Newman dial and a Tiffany & Co. co-signature, meaning it was originally sold through the famed New York jeweler.
Jay-Z also owns the Rolex Day-Date 40 Ref. 228206, a 950 platinum model featuring an ice-blue sunburst dial and Eastern Arabic numerals, a configuration originally produced for Middle Eastern markets, according to Esquire.
