Ring Game?

Swift announced the new song Sept. 22 and released it Sept. 25. The singer also offered three collector’s-edition CDs featuring different cover artwork, and one image immediately caught fans’ attention because of the ring on her finger.

Instead of the approximately 10-carat Old Mine brilliant-cut diamond that has become associated with her marriage to NFL star Travis Kelce, Swift seemed to be wearing an emerald-cut diamond set on a white-metal band that could be silver, platinum or white gold, InStyle reported.

Swift’s original engagement ring was designed by jeweler Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry and features a yellow-gold setting. Jewelry experts and media reports have estimated the ring’s value at anywhere from roughly $550,000 to $1 million, with some higher estimates reaching several million dollars.

The new ring could simply be a piece selected for the photo shoot as her engagement ring did show up again at the VMAs when she walked the red carpet just before making VMA history at at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards. She became the most-awarded artist in the show’s history with 33 career wins on Sept. 27. She took home the Video of the Year at the VMAs for “The Fate of Ophelia.”

The news comes on the heels of the couple’s star-studded July wedding inside Madison Square Garden.

Swift, holding an estimated $2.1 billion fortune, and Kelce, valued at $90 million, married in an extravagant arena production that industry experts estimate cost upwards of $30 million.

Esther Lee, editorial director at The Knot Worldwide, told the New York Post that the celebration required an expensive transformation of the iconic New York arena to make it an intimate wedding venue for more than 1,000 guests.

According to Lee, securing Madison Square Garden, including several days for setup and breakdown, along with the infrastructure needed for the event, could have cost between $5 million and $10 million.

The floral arrangements and décor reportedly added another $5 million or more to the bill.
