Less than one year after closing on her sprawling Atlanta estate, Mariah Carey reportedly has placed the home on the market for $6.5 million.
According to The Dirt, Carey purchased the home for $5.6 million in November 2021. Located in the Sandy Springs suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, the 4.2-acre property includes a 16,000-square-foot colonial mansion. After a series of renovations, she moved into the residence in April.
The home was burglarized in July while Carey was busy posting vacation photograms online. There had been a rash of burglaries of homes of the rich and famous in Atlanta.

The five-octave songstress launched her career as a backup singer to Brenda K. Starr. After gaining the attention of music mogul Tommy Mottola, Carey’s self-titled debut album was released in 1990, and would sell 15 million copies worldwide and go platinum nine times. Since then, she has recorded other notable albums, including “Merry Christmas,” which would sell more than 15 million copies worldwide and feature one of the most profitable singles in history, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Carey generates more than $600,000 annually from royalties associated with the song.

One of Many Homes
The signature decadence Carey has displayed in this home is not new. The songstress owns several properties but also enjoys renting properties. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Carey stayed in a mansion in a New York City-suburb in Westchester County. That residence featured a violin-shaped pool. Carey owns a triplex penthouse in lower Manhattan as well as a three-acre beachfront in the Bahamas. She’s also rented properties in Los Angeles and the Hamptons.
