Hip-hop artist Lil Wayne has placed his Miami Beach mansion on the market for $29.5 million. Lil Wayne’s asking price is almost 75 percent more than he paid for the residence just four years ago: $17 million.
Lil Wayne is working on an album: “Tha Carter VI.” While no official drop date has been provided, he began promoting the project at Drake’s October World Weekend Festival in August. He has also been in the studio with artists like Wyclef Jean and Juelz Santana.
A native of New Orleans, Lil Wayne began his career as a hip-hop artist in 1995, when he joined Cash Money Records. Soon after, he joined the group Hot Boys. His first solo album, “Tha Block Is Hot,” debuted in 1999. However, it was not until the late 2000s and early 2010s that Lil Wayne reached the height of his career. His greatest album sales came from the “Tha Carter III” album, which sold more than one million copies in the United States in its first week. Lil Wayne won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and his single “Lollipop” was the first to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
Considered one of the most influential hip-hop artists, Lil Wayne has won five Grammy Awards with 170 songs charted on the Billboard Hot 100. His current net worth is valued at $170 million.
A Focus on The Waterfront
Lil Wayne’s home is located on Allison Island, one of the most exclusive gated communities in Miami Beach. The 35-acre island includes expansive mansions and luxurious condominiums that are difficult even for wealthy homebuyers to access.
Noted architect Ralph Choeff designed Lil Wayne’s residence with spec home developer Laurent Harrari building it in 2017. The property sits on a half-acre lot on Allison Island and includes 110 feet of water frontage.
A Look Inside Lil Wayne’s Mansion
Visitors to the residence travel along a walkway that crosses a reflecting pool before reaching the front door to the expansive property. The seven-bedroom, 11-bath home is almost 10,300 square feet. Once inside, a custom-made mahogany entryway seamlessly flows into a great room with a 22-foot ceiling and a lacquered fireplace.
The dining and family rooms are connected, and right around the corner is a gourmet kitchen with high-end Italian cabinetry, as well as high-end Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances.
A butler’s kitchen, wine cellar and staff quarters are also present within the residence.
A commercial-grade elevator takes Lil Wayne easily to different levels of the home, which also includes a movie theater with suede-clad walls.
Upstairs, the master bedroom is 2,500 square feet. It includes a sitting area, private terrace, walk-in closet and double bathrooms.
Access to the courtyard is seamless from the kitchen;sliding glass doors open directly to the backyard. Once outside, there is a large pool area that includes an open-air cabana, a kitchen and a bathroom.
Lil Wayne’s Properties
This is not Lil Wayne’s first home in Miami. In 2017, he purchased a residence on nearby La Gorce Island. He sold the home for $10 million, losing $1.7 million. The property featured a rooftop skatepark and a shark lagoon.
In 2021, Lil Wayne put $15.4 million on an estate in Hidden Hills, California, and became neighbors with Kanye West and The Weekend.
