Legendary R&B singer, songwriter and producer Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds has sold his six-bedroom mansion in Los Angeles for $6.5 million.
Edmonds, who recently performed “America the Beautiful” at the Super Bowl, has an estimated net worth of $200 million.
Price Drop
According to a Hollywood Reporter exclusive, the property in Los Angeles’ guard-gated Beverly Crest neighborhood is 11,000 square feet and was first listed in May 2022, for $8 million. Most recently, it listed for a half-million dollars lower at $7.5 million. Babyface ultimately sold it for $1 million less than the asking price.
Babyface shared the house with his ex-wife Nicole Pantenburg. The two, who married in 2014, finalized their divorce in February 2023, after 15 years of coupledom and seven years of marriage. They called it quits in July 2021. According to court documents, the former couple has agreed on joint legal and joint physical custody of their only daughter. (Babyface has two other children with ex-wife Tracey Edmonds.) The singer has agreed to pay Pantenburg $37,000 monthly for child and spousal support. The singer also reportedly will maintain his daughter’s credit card charges and lease payments on Pantenburg’s Cadillac Escalade, and pay for insurance on the vehicle.
Babyface will continue paying for his daughter’s health insurance and private school tuition. When the daughter prepares for college, he will pay 65 percent of the costs for her to take college tour trips.
Inside the Mansion
The “Whip Appeal” singer bought the three-story pan-Mediterranean mansion for $4.1 million in 2004. The house features six bedrooms, seven baths, a gourmet chef’s kitchen, a great room with a fireplace and wet bar and a ground-floor en-suite bedroom, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The basement has a music studio, two gym areas, a wine room and a 15-seat screening room.
The backyard features a large entertainment terrace with a built-in grill, while the bar overlooks the swimming pool with waterfalls and a grotto.
