Reality television star, entrepreneur and songwriter Kandi Burruss is so busy running an empire that she never seems to have time to finish renovating her home.
On a recent episode of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Burruss revealed that although the house she currently shares with her husband, Todd Tucker, and their children has undergone extensive renovations, the work is not completed yet.
“We didn’t renovate. We are still renovating,” Burruss recently told Bravo Insider. “We are in a terrible place of eternal renovation.”
Burruss has been a cast member on Bravo’s “RHOA” since 2009, but she first rose to fame as a member of the R&B group Xscape. She went on to become an acclaimed songwriter, penning tunes such as “No Scrubs” for TLC and “Bug a Boo,” “Bills, Bills, Bills” and “The Writings on the Wall” for Destiny’s Child. In addition, Burruss has written songs for Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Usher, Pink and many more. She is the CEO of Kandi Koated Entertainment and runs several restaurants throughout Atlanta, including Old Lady Gang. She also has owned Bedroom Kandi, an intimate accessories line since 2011. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Burruss’ net worth is $30 million.
Current Renovations
On a recent episode of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Burruss and Tucker document their latest renovation: their indoor pool. The original subterranean pool was lined with a natural stone. The property also includes a ground-level jacuzzi complete with a waterfall. When Burruss, her family and friends are not swimming, they can relax on the couch or at a nearby dining table. Three huge windows at the very end of the room overlook the backyard.
With renovations underway, the furniture is currently stored inside the pool while contractors lay down black marble flooring. There are more renovations to be made on the space, but for now Burruss and Tucker are keeping them top secret.
Construction of an indoor poor can be expensive. According to remodeling advice and resource website FixR, the national average cost for installing an indoor pool runs between $40,000 and $200,000. For $95,000, you’ll get an indoor pool that measures 12′ x 24′, 40 inches deep, with concrete pool decking and a fiberglass liner.
A Look Inside Burruss’ Atlanta Home
Burruss’ home is more than 7,000 square feet. There’s a front and backyard that is consistently landscaped. Stone steps lead up to the front of the home, where visitors are met with large double doors.
Inside, there’s an open concept floor plan that features a fireplace and an elevator. Visitors can walk up the winding staircase to seven bedrooms and eight-and-a-half bathrooms.
A large guest house sits on the property as well.
The home is currently valued at $1 million.
