Offset Spends $50K to See His Son Run 30+ Yards In First Football Game

Georgia native Offset is vying for Father of the Year, breaking his schedule as one of the hottest rappers in rap music to charter a private jet to see his son’s first football game. The “Ric Flair Drip” artist is said to have spent tens of thousands of dollars to be in the bleachers.

On Sunday, Sept. 11, he tweeted to his fans that he spent $50,000 to fly from wherever he was in the world to his son’s activity.

“Spent 50k on jet to make Kody first football game ….. can’t miss these moments!!” he tweeted.

Kody Cephus, the rapper’s 7-year-old son, plays for the Blue Jays team sporting his lucky number 3.

On his official Instagram account, @KingKodyKiori, someone captioned for the young athlete, “My first game I ran for 30+ yards.”

In the first slide, Kody can be seen in his blue, black, grey and white uniform with a big boy scowl on his face. Next is a video of his epic run mentioned in the caption.

His 13,300 followers could spot the tiny athlete running with the ball past all of his much larger peers – skating past the rest of him like his name was Deion Sanders.

After the game, his dad snapped a shot of him sitting in the back seat of an SUV with the player. He tweeted it out, saying, “My Twin.”

Offset posted the same picture of his son and the full footage of the play on his Instagram, writing, “@kingkodykiori first football game he went crazy 30 plus yard run he never played before this year let’s go so proud you son.”

Kody is one of the five children of the rapper, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, according to Cosmopolitan. His other children include Jordan, 12; Kody Kiori, 7; Kalea Marie, [age unknown but believed to be 7]; Kulture Kiari, 4; and Wave Set, 1.

Building Wealth

The artist can afford to spend $50,000 on a private jet because he reportedly has a net worth that is between $26M and $32M and is married to fellow hip-hop artist Cardi B, whose net worth is between $40M and $42M.

Together, the chart-toppers are setting up generational wealth for their children. In an interview with “The Breakfast Club,” the “Legacy” rapper said he and his wife are investing in their children’s future primarily through real estate.

“Me and Cardi got to buying houses in Atlanta off your video,” he said to DJ Envy, one of the hosts.

“We were just talking like we need to start doing this. It’s a different respect,” the rapper shared.

“It’s like walking in a room with a Patek on your wrist that’s plain. Certain people gonna know …”

Securing Financial Security

Offset shared his plan to achieve a different level of financial security, saying, “I’m owing businesses. I’m having houses. Trying to get these apartment complexes in Atlanta right now.”

“I ain’t know, like condos, it ain’t nothing but a little Benz, where I am from. In Atlanta they $200K, $230K, $250K,” he continued to break down. “All these condos, you’re paying $3,500 a month to lease and you can own them; $260K where I come from is cars.”

The couple purchased five homes in Jonesboro, Georgia, in the spring of 2019, for roughly $202,000 and an adjoining lot for another $50,000, according to WABE.

By Christmas of the same year, they purchased a 22,500-square-foot mansion in Atlanta for $5.7 million. In 2021, Offset purchased a home for Cardi in the Dominican Republic for her birthday. It was not just for her personal pleasure, but another notch on their investment agenda.

Cardi explained on Instagram how her birthday gift was more than just a splurge, writing, “For a hot minute now I’ve been telling Set that I really want to invest in short-term home rental properties in the DR and other Caribbean countries (since people vacation all year round in those locations), but I felt like he didn’t agree with me and would rather put money into other investments. Well, I was wrong. I just can’t believe this! This was sooo amazing to me. For one, I’m so happy that you were actually really listening to me and not just smiling and nodding your head so I could stop talkin to you about it,” she wrote.

She added, “Two, you don’t think my investment ideas are wack, and three, I love that you asked my dad to work with you on this. You and my dad (and the [baby emoji]) are the most important men in my life and it makes me so happy that you guys are close and have your own bond and relationship.”
