For a growing number of people, becoming a social media influencer is proving to make for a career. YouTube prankster JiDion is one, and he’s been mega-successful at it. He reportedly has amassed a net worth of $1 million as of 2022.
Born as JiDion Adams but known also as DeMarcus Cousins III, JiDion’s antics have turned the 21-year-old into one of the most successful YouTubers, with almost 6 million subscribers and 4 million TikTok followers.
Some of his pranks included attending NBA and Grand Slam games while staging a haircut appointment, taking Zoom classes while taking a bath and pretending to be a college recruiter at high-school games.
His comedy derives from his shock humor and publicity stunts, some of which have been reacted to by more prominent influencers such as Twitch streamer Pokimane and public figures such as Milwaukee Bucks power forward DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins. They are not related.
Who is JiDion and How Did he Become Famous?
Born on Dec. 12, 2000, in Houston, Texas, Jidion struggled to socialize in school and felt unaccepted among his childhood classmates.
It was not until he attended Clear Lake High School, where he played defensive end for his team and sold bootlegged snacks, that he developed his comedic persona.
Although his passion for sports and hustling helped shape JiDion’s personality, it is his love for content creation that really molded him into what he is today.
At age 12, JiDion begged his father for video equipment and a computer for his newly created, experimental gaming channel.
In 2018, he created his JiDion YouTube account while attending Clear Lake. His earlier videos have either been deleted or unlisted, but he got notoriety from his vlog regarding his suspension for selling drinks in the cafeteria.
His fifth video, an amateur boxing promotion, blew up JiDion’s profile on YouTube. He started to earn money through his channel.

Then, YouTubers earn ad revenue from display, overlay and video ads that run on your channel. With YouTube Premium, you can earn a portion of a subscriber’s fee when viewers watch your content.
After JiDion tasted YouTube success, he continued to follow trends and produced engaging content. But his good fortune was halted when his channel started to become stagnant; his channel was stuck at 244,000 subscribers. With the decline of his channel for six months straight, JiDion went to work for Uber Eats for additional income.
JiDion Prayed for his Channel
After much self-reflection and praying to God for his channel’s comeback, JiDion said he decided to change his creative direction. He would no longer make videos for views but for his personal amusement and do a series of pranks.
He went viral again after posting on YouTube and TikTok a prank of him flirting with women using a remote control and a pair of walkie-talkies.
On Aug 6. 2021, he garnered 1 million subs on YouTube.
