‘I’ve Been Going to TGI Fridays My Whole Life’: Jamie Foxx Brings His Brown Sugar Bourbon Brand to TGI Fridays Under New Partnership

The casual food chain TGI Fridays is getting a little help from actor/comedian Jamie Foxx. Foxx has partnered with the restaurant to come up with new menu ideas.

So far on the Foxx-infused menu is Jamie Foxx’s BSB—Brown Sugar Bourbon. And he has created a sauce using BSB: Foxx on the Roxx BBQ Sauce. TGI Fridays already has started featuring the sauce on ribs and wings.

TGI Fridays will now offer three dishes featuring the sauce — Fridays Big Ribs, Bucket of Bones and the Wings Roulette Platter, according to Mashed.

Foxx, who has a net worth of about $170 million, actually owns the BSB. He purchased the unique bourbon from spirits maker Heritage Distilling Company in 2021.

“Before the quarantine I watched bottles of BSB disappear at all my celebrations and knew this was a brand I wanted to bring into the spotlight. Anyone who tries BSB is going to love it just like I do,” Foxx said in a statement.

Through the partnership with TGI Fridays Foxx’s BSB and BSB-flavored BBQ sauce will be used at all the locations. TGI Fridays, a $2 billion company, operates over 869 locations in 55 countries, including 298 in the United States.

This opportunity for Foxx will allow him to introduce his BSB brand to a broader audience. And the chain has been growing. The brand earned $73.2 million in average monthly volume in 2021, up from $50.8 million in 2020, and $72.5 million in 2019, FSR magazine reported.

Menu Mashup

Besides introducing the BSB sauce to the food menu, Foxx also added items to the drinks menu. Foxx teamed up with Fridays’ drinks experts to create the Foxxy Mule — a mix of BSB, habanero lime syrup, ginger beer and a squeeze of lime, Restaurant Business Online reported.

“I’ve been going to TGI Fridays my whole life,” Foxx said in a statement. “I have so many great memories—from trips with my mom to celebrate special occasions as a kid to post-show celebrations with friends and family after my comedy shows when I was starting out. To finally have the opportunity to create something for the Fridays menu and join the Fridays family with Brown Sugar Bourbon is remarkable.”

Special Foxx Deals

TGI Fridays is also featuring an exclusive, limited Foxx on the Roxx digital deal. Customers can get a half rack of ribs, six traditional wings and fries for $19.99 through the Fridays.com website.
