Steve Harvey was once a struggling comedian who slept in his car in between gigs. Today, he has moved on to run a multimillion-dollar empire and owns a fleet of cars.
“People ask me all the time, ‘why do you buy such expensive cars,’” he said on SafariTV. Cuz if this all goes away one day and I have to go back to living in a car, that will be nice. I’ll be in a Phantom…stretched out with a refrigerator. Lights in the ceiling. That’s what I’ll be homeless in.”
Harvey’s car collection includes luxury brands such as Rolls-Royce and Bentley and economy brands such as Cadillac and Ford. The collection is worth more than $2 million, according to CarHP.
Luxury brands are Harvey’s favorite — with three being Rolls-Royces and another being a Bentley. He also has a Ford F-150 and a classic 1941 Cadillac Convertible.
Harvey gifted his wife a Bentley Mulsanne for her 59th birthday.
How Does Harvey Afford It All?
Harvey is currently the host of “Family Feud,” and “Celebrity Family Feud.” In addition, he hosts the talk show “The Steve Harvey Show” as well as the syndicated radio show “The Steve Harvey Morning Show.”
Harvey rose to fame after spending almost a decade working odd jobs and growing his career as a comedian. During this time, he slept in his 1978 Ford and used showers at gas stations or sites where he’d find pools when he could not get a hotel.
He got his first big shot in 1990, as the host of “It’s Showtime at the Apollo.” He went on to star in comedy specials, including the 1997 “Kings of Comedy” tour with headliners such as Cedric the Entertainer, D.L. Hughley and Bernie Mac. In addition, Harvey starred in television shows such as 1994’s “Me and the Boys,” as well as comedy sitcom “The Steve Harvey Show,” which aired for four years on WB.
Harvey’s film roles have included “The Fighting Temptations, “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” and the comedy special “Steve Harvey” Don’t Trip…He Ain’t Through With Me Yet.” His film, “Think Like a Man,” was inspired by his bestselling book, “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.” Harvey also has published “Straight Talk, No Chaser,” “Act Like A Success” and “Jump: Take the Leap of Faith to Achieve Your Life of Abundance.”
For all of his business ventures, Harvey has a net worth of $200 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
