Check How Jordyn Woods Broke Out of the Kardashian/Jenner Shadow to Become a Powerhouse on Her Own, Amassing $6 Million as an ‘It’ Girl

Many believe model and socialite Jordyn Woods has made her mark in the world via her relationship with one of pop culture’s most famous families. However, the California native, whose family grew up in a community with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, has forged a lane of her own, earning herself an estimated net worth of $6 million.

At 25 years old, the former party girl has shifted her attention from late nights in the club with her former billionaire bestie Kylie Jenner to focusing on monetizing her status as an influencer.

Woods began her modeling career in 2015, after joining the Wilhelmina Agency. She was discovered based on pictures she posted on Instagram and her proximity to the Calabasas social and fashion elite. This led her to walk in fashion shows for brands like Christian Siriano, Lane Bryant and even a three-year stint with Jenner’s sister Khloé Kardashian’s clothing company Good American.

Within two years, her modeling career was thriving, and in 2017 she achieved a significant milestone by walking in her first show at New York Fashion Week.

Her connection to the Kardashian/Jenner Clan afforded her an opportunity to star in a couple of their reality television shows: “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and “Life of Kylie.”

So close was her relationship with Jenner that the two had a televised “friendship ceremony” in Peru — bonding them together as friends.

On Her Own

Five years ago, Woods attempted to stake her claim in fashion, launching her street-style activewear clothing line SECNDNTURE.

While the brand was founded and launched in 2018, the budding businesswoman ran into problems when she was denied a trademark for the fitness apparel line.

Around the same time, she collaborated with Jenner to launch the Kyle x Jordyn collection as part of Kyle Cosmetics.

According to RadarOnline, the United States Patent and Trademark Office denied Woods’ trademark application because she did not respond to the national agency’s requests for information.

This failure to complete the application came amid one of the biggest controversies of her life: allegations of her creeping with former boss Khloe Kardashian’s child’s father and then-boyfriend, Tristan Thompson.

Her flirtatious relationship with Thompson, which she addressed during an episode of Pinkett Smith’s “Red Table Talk,” caused a tear in her relationship with her best friend and the famous Hollywood family she was so known for being attached to.

Not to be undone by the hiccup, she kept working.

Woods launched another clothing line in partnership with the UK-based fashion retailer Boohoo.com and a hair extensions line with Easilocks in 2019.

In 2020, Woods linked up with retailer, PrettyLittleThing, to put out the Quarantine Collection. She later returned to the fitness space, launching FRSTPLACE, an app to help people reach their personal fitness goals.

Now working outside of the Kardashian/Jenner shadow, the “It” girl started to get booked on hit television shows like the game show “Hip Hop Squares.”

In 2020, Woods showcased her talents on the reality singing competition series “The Masked Singer,” taking part as the character Kangaroo in its third season. The previous year, she’d made a notable appearance as Dee, a college student dealing with thoughts of suicide, in an episode of the ABC sitcom “grown-ish.” Building on her acting journey, in 2020, Woods achieved a significant milestone by securing a leading role in the BET+ streaming service film “Trigger.”

“I grew up around acting my whole life,” Woods said in an interview with Elite Daily. “I never thought I was actually going to go and pursue it, but it all ended up working out and just being in this lifestyle.”

Recently, Woods has been spotted out with Jenner, seemingly having rekindled their friendship. The power dynamic has changed, as Woods is now successful on her own and not because she is Jenner’s friend.
