Entrepreneur Marjorie Elaine Harvey burst on the scene after marrying comedian and media mogul Steve Harvey. While the Chicago native reportedly had a career in fashion before meeting the King of Comedy, it is difficult to gauge just how successful she was in the field.
While marrying Harvey, who has a net worth of $200 million, was a level up from her two previous other husbands, both of whom allegedly were involved in the drug trade, Majorie has been able to amass a fortune of $50 million her own. Here is what we know.

The blog, a platform where she offers how to live a champagne life on a Pepsi budget, has transitioned to an Instagram model, feeding content to almost 350,000 followers.
Banking on her Own
Harvey has made a business out of not just her thoughts about fashion but allowing people to enjoy some of her favorite pieces that no longer fit in her wardrobe. In 2016, she opened Marjorie Harvey’s Closet.
Designers like Céline, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, or Alexander McQueen could be found on this now-defunct online marketplace. The store offered couture sunglasses, clothing, and handbags at significantly lower prices than typical consignment shops.
In addition to talking about fashion and selling from her personal collections, Harvey is also a designer, launching her MH Closet and MH Handbags.
Her handbags launched in 2020 and featured clutches, totes, and bag accessories targeting jetsetters and her couture-favoring fanbase. The inclusive price points, ranging from $18 to $300, allow folk interested in high fashion styles to cop their own.
“The biggest aspect was making the line affordable, that was a promise I made to all my followers,” Harvey told Essence. “I wanted everyone to be invited to the party! I feel like my team and I delivered just that.”
She wanted the line to reflect the things she posted on TLLC.
“Really since I launched The Lady Loves Couture, my followers have been very vocal about every pic I post (laugh)!” she said. “So it was important to me to have a collection that reflects my personal style and looks like something I would wear.”
Not all of her work is about glitz and glamour. On a day-to-day basis, she runs The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation with her husband of over 16 years.
According to its website, the nonprofit organization was founded in 2010 and “provides youth outreach services that help cultivate the next generation of responsible leaders by providing mentoring, educational enrichment, mental wellness support, life transformation skills, and global service initiatives.”
This also ties into her career history of giving people the blueprint to look and feel their best, as they aspire to be the best.

Still, no matter how positive she or the funnyman are, there are still those who float rumors about her family’s personal and professional demise.
Recently, there was a report that the two were on the splits after she reportedly had an affair with her husband’s chef and bodyguard.
During the 2023 Annual Investfest in Atlanta, Steve Harvey tried to shut those rumors down.
“I’m fine. Marjorie fine. I don’t know what y’all doing, but find something else to do ’cause we fine. Lord have mercy. I sure wish I could cuss, though,” he said into a microphone before the sold out audience.
His queen also took to her Instagram to set the matter straight.
“My husband and I don’t usually stop to address all the foolishness and lies that have been spread about us. However to whom much is given much is required,” she wrote. “I understand that with my platform comes some sort of responsibility to those that may not be as strong as we are. Read and share this with your love ones that may not know how to properly cope. God Bless all of you.”
Family friend Senator Prince Ned Nwoko also jumped in and did his part to dead the rumor of a Harvey breakup.
“Fake news has been taken to new heights all over the world and this is so unfortunate. We experience this practically everyday and so when we read about our friend Steve Harvey and his lovely wife having issues,” the politician said on Instagram, adding, “We had to contact Him and He confirmed that he and his wife are very much okay and it’s all fake news and should be disregarded.”
