Twelve Years After His Death, Nate Dogg’s Family Is Still Fighting Over Estate as Ex-Girlfriend Seeks Child Support for Nearly 18-Year-Old Son

Shereda Williams, the former girlfriend of the late rapper Nate Dogg, who died 12 years ago, is reportedly seeking child support for their 17-year-old son, Jayden.

Williams is pressing the Los Angeles Superior Court to enforce a child support order dating back to 2006, which required Nate Dogg to pay her $4,358 per month, RadarOnline reported.

In 2013, Williams claimed that the court had sanctioned her monthly payment of $3,000. However, she subsequently identified an error in the court order, placing her rightful payments at risk. Williams has petitioned the court to instruct Nate Dogg’s estate to provide her with the support she is owed.

Battle for Estate

Financial conflicts have persistently plagued Nate Dogg’s family.

Nate Dogg, whose real name was Nathaniel Dwayne Hale, passed away on March 15, 2011, without a will and with an estimated net worth of $1.5 million. His death was attributed to multiple strokes and congestive heart failure complications. He had experienced strokes in both 2007 and 2008 prior to his passing, The New York Times reported.

Nate Dogg’s surviving wife, LaToya Calvin, was in the run to be nominated administrator of his estate, seeking responsibility for managing the rapper’s finances and determining the respective shares for his six surviving children, four daughters and two sons, which has caused some discontent among them, TMZ reported. It is unclear if Calvin was the mother of any of the six kids Debra, Whitney, Niajel, Milana, Aundrane, and Nathaniel Jr.

In addition to Calvin’s filing for her 2012 order, the rapper’s mother, Ruth Holmes, was also designated as co-administrator.

Nevertheless, the two women have withdrawn their requests following backlash from Nate Dogg’s children, who unanimously favored attorney Alex Borden as the preferred nominee.

In August, Calvin filed court documents requesting a judge’s permission to sell Nate’s music catalog, alleging that the current estate administrator had been unwilling to give proper consideration to offers made for the estate.

The Blast also reported that since the children are entitled to the profits from the sale of the catalog, the sale cannot proceed until all the members act together in agreement.

But in LaToya Calvin’s filing to sell the catalog, she claimed everyone would be compensated. Despite her appeal for fair compensation for all parties involved, Nate Dogg’s children and their mothers have said they believe that neither Calvin nor Ruth Holmes have the estate’s best interests at heart and are primarily focused on financial matters.

Nate Dogg’s family claimed that he had been separated from Calvin before his death. Court documents indicated that the rapper had filed for divorce 19 days before he passed away, although the divorce was never completed.

All of this turmoil and fighting of the estate might cause Shereda Williams’ bud for child support to be held up until the estate is finally settled.

  1. crystal says:

The same thing is happening with his other child, Sianna Hale. She’s 16 just a year younger than him.

  2. Hale Family says:

Nate was married to Toya for less than a year before she tried to serve him divorce papers. Then he had a stroke and couldnt attend the hearings so they stayed married on paper. She tried to take over his estate but the children and the mothers of the minor children ensured to object as Latoya has no children from their relationship.
Also, Sheredas petition was denied. Also objected by the other parties.

  3. Hale Family says:

Sianna has little to no support within the family because she only reaches out for help from them when she wants money. Her mother (a drug addict and prostitute) collects Social Security for Sianna and does not give her the money. Instead she encourages Sianna to be an adult and fend for herself and her younger brother (not from Nate).

  4. Hale Family says:

Adult Children of Nate Dogg: Nijael Hale, Debra Hale, Aundrane Hale, Nate Jr Hale, MIlania Hale

Minors: Xavier Hale, Jayden Hale, Sianna Hale
