Hip-hop artists Cardi B and Offset have had a marriage of great highs and lows. But it seems that after Cardi B’s latest social media rant both have unfollowed each other and they might really be headed for divorce.
“They’re tumultuous,” a source told People about the couple. “They’ve broken up and gotten back together and broken up again way more than the public has seen.”
Drama, Drama, and more Drama
The couple married quietly in 2017 with Cardi B’s cousin as their only witness. While accepting the Best Rap Group award at the BET Awards, Offset thanked Cardi B, referring to her as his wife. They have two children together and Offset also has three other children from previous relationships.
Cardi B previously filed for divorce in 2020 requesting primary physical custody of their daughter, Kulture, child support and a division of assets, since there was no prenuptial agreement signed. Although the couple was separated, they soon reconciled and by 2021 welcomed their son, Wave Set.
Now as Cardi B announced their separation and the two have unfollowed each other on social media, it seems she may be planning to file for divorce again. Here’s a look at the couple’s assets.
Artists and Investors
Cardi B and Offset have a collective net worth of over $100 million. They’ve partnered on endorsements with McDonald’s and have even purchased investment properties together in Georgia. In 2019, they purchased five homes in Jonesboro, a suburb of Atlanta, for $201,840 and adjacent land for $48,080. Just two years later, they purchased a home in Tenafly, NJ, a town 45 minutes from midtown Manhattan for a reported $5.8 million.
Cardi B reportedly has a net worth of $80 million. She started in the entertainment industry as an exotic dancer and on social media platforms such as Vine and Instagram. Cardi B later made her mark on “Love and Hip Hop New York” before dropping her first album, “Invasion of Privacy.” She currently has more No. 1 singles than any female rapper and has had partnerships with MAC Cosmetics, Gypsy Sport, Pepsi, Reebok, and Fashion Nova. Cardi B also owns a mansion in the Dominican Republic, a birthday gift from Offset. She currently rents the property out on Airbnb.
As a member of the Migos, Offset has a reported net worth of $28 million. In addition to his work as a recording artist, Offset has become a staple in advertising campaigns for designers such as Gosha Rubchinskiy, Lavati, and Bryce Barnes. In 2019, Offset was revealed to be an investor in FaZe Clan and has appeared in the company’s videos on YouTube.
While it is not clear if Cardi B is filing for divorce, with no prenuptial agreement in place the couple will have to negotiate the division of their assets.
